My name is Melinda George, I am a freelance makeup artist currently residing in Clarkston, Washington. I started doing makeup about 16 years ago as a young adult, for friends and family, similar to many of us in this industry. Two years ago I decided to stop working 9-5 jobs and dedicate all of my time to doing what I love, invest in myself, and my dream.

The area where I live, I do mostly bridal, which I love. It can sometimes become hectic when there are a million things and people getting ready for the big day, but that's when I feel I am most in my element. I hope to go into some other areas of this industry as I am able. Doing makeup for other events, such as prom and senior pictures are always a lot of fun, even sometimes balancing what mom and daughter both want, I enjoy finding that balance so that both are impressed with the outcome. Makeup for photography is another area where I feel I do some of my best work. I've done makeup boudoir, family, and other miscellaneous shoots.

When I'm applying makeup, my main focus and most work goes into the skin. I prefer not to use air brushing. For me personally, I feel like I have more control over so many aspects of it, from the finish, to color correcting. With the high end products that I use, it lasts just as long or longer, and is always flawless.

I'm always up for trying new things, working with other artists, and of course travel!
