Makeup is a revolution. It brings people out there comfort zone and this is why I am who I am today. My name is Courtney Peterson. I am a Junior in college attending Roosevelt University studying Pre- Law. However, because of the path I have chosen it doesn't stop me from devoting part of my life to my make up journey. Makeup has been a part of my life since I was a little girl. Yes , many little girls get their first makeup set but mine made me more curious than just playing with it. Throughout my life I have been taught how to paint and draw and use my hands. I decided to learn to use my hands to pursue makeup. I have been on fire ever since, gaining new skills and perfecting my craft it has shown me what type of person I am and who I should strive to be. I strive to be featured in this magazine because I would love to share my story with other young black women who are hesitant about making the first step to learning themselves. I want to show its okay to try different shades of lipsticks , eyeshadows, brow shades, eyelashes and to take a serious interest in choosing the correct foundation for your skin tone ,to me its breakout season for beauty and to be more free in choosing what fits your mood or your style of dressing. Trying haircolors that fit your makeup whether you choose reds, blues, purples, blonde shades , i think you get the idea. Also trying hair styles that fit your makeup can be a big accent to your expression of who you are , so take more chances with your makeup , take a page from my book and express yourself without being afraid ,this comes from many women before me.
