I paint in oil and watercolor, and draw in graphite and charcoal. My artwork is featured in Art in the Main Gallery in Salt Lake City, Utah, website: www.artatthemain.com. I primarily love to paint people, but I also enjoy creating landscapes, still life and anything else that catches my fancy. In particular I favor thick, rich, juicy, oil paint where the strokes show in the work. I am fascinated by watercolor paint touching a moist canvas and exploding on the paper, and seeing how the watercolors create their own pattern and color. In both oil and watercolor I prefer loose rather than extremely tight painting. I
Where realism sometimes merges into abstraction attracts me.. I have studied t the Hein Academy in Salt City, and for about 25 years I have also been painting and taking art lessons from some of the best Utah artists, such as Glen Hawkins, Larry Wade, George W. Allen, Ann Marie Oborn, Kristi Grussendorf, Susan Gallacher and Kathryn Stats. I have also studied with the well known New York portrait artist Daniel Greene. I find that the best way to learn to paint is to paint with an artist whose work you love. I am primarily looking for paid work, but I will consider trading a painting in exchange for modeling.
