Pleased to report that Gino is home from the hospital and is making great progress toward a full recovery. I'm sure he will be checking in here soon, now that he is back on his own turf!

I flew down to Atlanta to see Gino this weekend. He is doing much better and should be able to come home soon. He really, really enjoyed the 20"x30" "get well" card that some of his model friends shot for him (see my MM page for a look). Thanks again to everyone here who has sent their love and inquired about his progress. Gino will be back, and Gino still knows sexy!

Update on Gino.. 7/24
Gene is out of the hospital and back in the rehab center in Atlanta and is making slow, but steady progress. The hope is he may be able to come home in 2 to 3 weeks.
Thanks to everyone who has contacted me offering love and good wishes for Gino.

Update on Gene 7-17.
Not much to report. Gene is still in the hospital recovering from the surgery he needed this week, so his rehab is kind of on hold. Once he is stable and strong enough, they will be moving him to a rehabilitation center at Emory to start therapy again. His wife Barbara is down with him now, and will be staying for the time being.

Update on Gino 7-13
I flew down to Atlanta this weekend to visit Gino. He had been moved to a Rehab hospital and was starting physical therapy. We had a real good visit on Saturday and I even got to take him outside for a little while. He just recently had a little setback and had to go back for some more surgery, so he is back in the regular hospital for a while until they get him all fixed up again. Hopefully he will be able to resume his recovery soon.
Thank you again for all your concern and love for my friend. He appreciates it, as do I.

Update on Gino 7-8-09.
Thanks again to all the wonderful friends of Gene's who have contacted me asking about his condition and sending good wishes.
It's a little difficult messaging all of you, so I thought I'd just keep posting updates here.
Gene is doing much better. He is awake and communicative, and definitely acting more like the Gino we know, although he still has a trach tube so talking is difficult. They are moving him out of ICU and to "step down" care, so hopefully that is a step closer to us being able to bring him home.
I am going down on Friday to see him and hopefully will be able to report back with even better news after the weekend.

Update on Gino 7-4
Gene is off the respirator and is progressing, although he is still in ICU and will be in Atlanta for at least several weeks.
I am going down on Friday to see him. If any of his MM buddies want to send him well wishes and notes, you can message them to me and I will print them all out and make sure he gets them.

UPDATE on GINO:
Thanks to everyone for all your love and concern for my friend Gino. I just received this today 7-01-09
Gene is "awake and responding appropriately".
They removed a drain (from his head) and are taking him off the respirator but he remains on oxygen.
He recognizes Barbara and tries to communicate with her.
He is responsive to commands and seems to be doing extremely well.
He is still in very serious condition in the ICU, and the docs say he will need to stay in Atlanta about 3 weeks after he gets out of ICU, but he is doing better.

An update for all who are checking on Gino.
Thank you for all the love and kind thoughts.
Gino is still hospitalized in Atlanta. There is not much change in his condition, which is actually a good sign. We are all wishing Gino the best for a speedy recovery and hope to have him back home soon.

Just a heads up to anyone who may be trying to get in touch with Gino.
Gino is in the hospital in Atlanta in very serious condition and will be out of commission for at least the next several weeks. If anyone needs to get in touch with him, or would like more information on his condition, or how to send him well wishes, please message me here on MM.
