I am a second degree seeking student at Auburn University, pursuing a concentration in Printmaking and/or Sculpture. My first degree is in art history. Sadly, my first and only figure drawing class was 3/4 online because of COVID. Therefore I am looking for more model practice online to hone my understanding of the human anatomy in space. I have a license in massage therapy, so I know what goes where pretty well but want to improve translating that visually onto paper.
As I continue my drawing practice, I want to focus on motifs such as human interaction with nature, manual labor, and the surreal. My works often have a combination of darkness and whimsy. For my current drawing course, I am working on a drawing series of nudes (non-erotic) in Alabama pine forests. The drawings will be inside luan boxes I construct and wrap in wisteria and dog yarn, then light from within. Viewers will have to walk up to a peephole in the box to see the drawing.
