So who's this Coastal Photographer guy? Just a guy who likes taking pictures and is easing into retirement and has some spare time. I decided that I'd learn what all those buttons and menu options on my camera really did. I joined a local photography club and will mostly use this website to show off pictures that I think are good. I'll typically leave a lot of EXIF data in the photos to showcase how I set the camera when taking the picture. I initially thought about overlaying the data on the actual image but it occurred to me this would screw up any print orders. So if you want to see the EXIF data, drill down into a particular image and then click the "i" button in the upper left hand margin of the website. Trust me, there will be more EXIF data than you can shake a stick at.

I may end up taking a picture of you one day - I think I'm better at people (and dogs) pictures than I am landscape photos, beach photos, fireworks photos, and all the rest. But I've got a list of things I want to get better at in terms of picture taking, so this is pretty much where those photos will end up.

If you like any of these pics, you're free to print them and hang them on a wall. In fact, because I'm a technology geek, I'm using Smugmug and a custom domain that has a built in shopping cart. If you want, you can order prints right off of the website and have a real photo lab print them and send them to you. I don't make a dime from any of that - you're just paying for the photo processing and mailing. Trust me, if/when I take pictures that I think are worth a lot of money, there will be a price tag associated with them.

Since you're paying the photographer (that would be me) absolutely nothing, I'm not generally inclined to provide raw files or do a whole bunch of editing of what I put up up on the site.

Having said all of this, every image on this page is covered under US copyright law and you absolutely DO NOT have the right to republish these images, nor do you have the right to use them for any commercial purposes. It would be very unlikely that I would ever grant the media rights to republish any of my photographs. I could use a good laugh though, so if you happen to have a media request, you can ask. But don't hold your breath. lol.
