It wasn’t  until I went off for college then returned home that I appreciated the beauty of my country the Bahamas. I saw beauty in other countries because I was fascinated with them due to the fact that I never visited these countries before so it left this mystique in my mind. When I thought of Paris I pictured a black and white scene with glimmering lights. With New Zealand I saw vast amount of endless green pastures. With New York I pictured towering buildings and graffiti subways. It wasn’t until a tourist came to my island of Bimini and took me out on their boat and the sun was setting. He steered out into the horizon and said this is a life to live. This was first time I saw the true beauty of my island. The sun rays spread out like amber with burst of gold running though it. The skies looked like lavender blue with specks of white while the ocean was its competitor in beauty but it lacked nothing with its arrays of blues and greens. It was then I confirmed my burning love for color and layout of things. I want to do something where I could  create something new just like our sunset in which we will never get that exact same view as the day before. Also I want to be able to tell a story with anything that I create. I want people to see a story in my work even if it’s not the same story I had in mind when I created it.  Just like the beauty of our sunset there was story but I had my own story with the sunset so in every thing seen and created theirs my story.
