My name is Jake Branson. I am a 19 year old artistic photographer living in Emporia, Kansas looking to expand my horizons the creation of art with others. I feel that the ability to create artwork of ANY kind is a GIFT granted those who need, want, or just choose to express emotions, thoughts, or ideas that run deeper than our material world can begin to scrape the surface of. The creation of true artwork is a long, sometimes difficult process that can fully consume some people. But when the end result is and photo, or a sculpture, or a painting that puts across a message so meaningful that it requires no words at all to drive another person to laugh, or cry, or become infuriated, it is so much more than well worth the time and effort.

Photography and modeling are just two minor branches of the vast spectrum that we have dubbed "art", and photography is so profound and incredible to me because it allows me to show someone else what goes on in my soul for a brief moment. The happiest and most beautiful moments in our lives can be frozen in time, shared with others, and revisted over and over again. The other side of that coin is the deepest and darkest parts of myself which can pour out into my photography. This grants me the release of knowing that beauty is never out of reach, it's more like we just sometimes need to see through another's eyes. Discovering beauty in our darkest times is often the one candle we need to guide us back to lighter times. This of course, could never be accomplished without the jaw dropping beauty of nature or the spectrum of emotions, poses, ideas, energy, drive (and killer shoes!!!) of a talented and artistic model. Through photography i can take a setting, and/or a model(or two or three) and show another how i see them. I am given the opportunity to give a portion of my reality to another individual, and at the same time explore deeper into myself and continue growing, learning, and changing. This connection is where i find my nirvana.
