About Me

I try to display the most wonderful personal traits of the subject. However, my favorite photos are the ones in which the model looks unfamiliar to the people they know. These criteria can be difficult to combine!

I like things that are built to last, get rebuilt, and last some more. I like timeless things. I prefer permanent, stable things to ephemeral, delicate ones. I like pictures that won't look dated soon.

I use improvised equipment, and I like it! For me, that's part of the pleasure in photography. My lighting is "precision engineered" using hardware store materials, and my backdrops hang from mug hooks in the ceiling. Don't come to me expecting a dazzling display of expensive hardware. Just judge by the results.

I generally shoot indoors.
I'm in the greater Boston area.
I've been doing this for six or seven years.
I'm not a cosmetologist or a hair stylist, so that part is up to you. :)
(I'm happy to recommend friends skilled in those trades.)
