An excerpt from an article I wrote on why I choose to model nude:
"Although I see what every other does when looking at a nude photo, I believe that there is so much more to see than simply some T&A. The shame that has been pushed on us says otherwise, but nudity is hardly scandalous. The ability to move past the knee jerk reaction of our collective humanity and bare yourself for the public eye, is one of the most fearless things a person can do. It is a big "fuck you" to the lack of self-love that exists today, a physical embodiment of internal protest to the way we are being told to feel. These images that are captured, whether they are deemed artistic, suggestive, or pornographic, they are showing strength, individuality, and a renewed hope for humanity. If we are pushing forward, breaking through the fear that is keeping us down in the most superficial sense, we are making way for the things that are truly important.
If I can open myself up in the most apparent way, if I am able to strip down to show you my weakest parts, if I can show you my imperfections as part of my beauty, if I can show that I do not feel the need to hide everything that is not conventionally accepted, I can show you just how strong I am capable of being. Looking at these images and seeing the birth marks, the pimples, stretch marks, cellulite, bruises, scars, and everything else that makes a person human, while at the same time seeing such beauty, is amazing. To be able to feel that beauty, and get others to translate that beauty into their own, is something I hope to achieve."
