THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR MAKING THE SUMMER OMG FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC
We are a networking group. There is no official "membership" or organization. Nor are there any dues or fees (outside of chipping in to pay for locations or food at events) We invite anyone and everyone in the local (or not so local, but happens to be in town) community to come and enjoy the day, network, and maybe shoot.
We hold large meet & greets about four times a year and have smaller social get togethers sporadically throughout the year (check the forum threads for announcements) We also have bi-monthly eat & critiques for getting together and discussing our work.
The events are NOT shoot-outs.
With the Meet and Greet, shooting is completely optional. We will always provide a venue in which shooting is possible, but we want everyone to know that they are not REQUIRED to shoot. Come out, mingle, talk and get to know the photographers, models and stylists in the area.
It's a NO-PRESSURE environment meant to encourage everyone to have fun while getting their work seen by more of the local community. As such, it would be a very good idea to bring portfolios with you, particularly if you are a photographer or MUA so that people can familiarize themselves with your work. It's also a good idea to come prepared to shoot, even if you don't expect to do so.
Since this isn't an organized shoot, all details regarding with whom you shoot, releases, and terms of the shoot are to be handled BY YOU. Be sure that you discuss the terms with your collaborators, and that all details are understood. Please be sure that all parties have a copy of the release.

OMG Fall 2009 Event (a Hangout, Cookout & Shootout) is coming really really soon in a crazy impromptu what the heck why not kinda way
Come join us from 10am to 9pm on
Saturday, November 21st 2009 at my studio conveniently located in the BFE area of Orlando... near the Sanford Flea Market... exact address and directions below..
Our last meet and greet was at Club 23 downtown and was a huge success... we want to get back to our roots though and one of our best OMG's was an all day cookout at the springs... it might be too cool for the springs but not to cookout.
So I know there isn't much lead time for this event but come out anyway and hang out, bring some food for a cookout and if there are models and photographers who want to... come use my studio (first taste is free... hopefully you'll be hooked and come back for more, i won't complain, lol)
If you have food, bring it
If you have drinks, bring it (no underage drinking ok?)
If you have a grill, mention it we might want you to bring it
If you have a camera, bring it if you want to shoot
If you have a good looking body, bring it we might want to shoot you
If you have lights, bring them, can never have too much.

This OPEC event
(when active) is a causal meeting of photographers and models in the Orlando area to get together and discuss photography in a constructive atmosphere. The meetings cover critiques of each others work, peer tutorials on photographic tips and tricks and general photography discussions.

We prefer communication through this page concerning the meet & greet. The organizers are not a select elite bunch (even if we do get to wear gold braid and big hats) and we welcome participation on all levels and want to hear from you. This is a volunteer hobby group, we get out of it what everyone puts in.
We don't want to just hear people asking us what we can do for them but people telling us what they can do for the event (to slaughter some nice words from JFK)
