ATTENTION: Very basically, here is what I am about: I will give you my background, below, and express my interests, and indicate those aspects of life that have affected and defined the gestalt that is ME.

I STRONGLY SOLICIT YOUR HONEST APPRAISAL OF MY IMAGES; WHATEVER IT IS, LET'S HAVE IT! DON'T EVEN CONCERN YOURSELF WITH BREVITY. JUST SIT WAY BACK, AND LET IT ALL OOZE OUT. SPARE ME NOTHING. I WOULD DO NOTHING LESS FOR YOU.

I am determined to learn, and your input contributes to my better understanding of the true and proper course for the evolution of my craft.

Fine art photographer:
All my images are derived using a large format, 4 x 5" camera and larger; venues are aerial, land and sea, climates from extreme arctic to tropical. Subjects range from cultural studies of endangered peoples and the human experience to landscapes in and of extremely wild venues; nudes as art; detail studies; florals, and the like. My tastes extend to, and resultant work includes, almost anything, and from anywhere...except for that which is dull, boring, vulgar, distasteful, degrading, immoral or illegal. I spend a lot of time in very raw environments, untouched by man, and spectacular at that. Ideally, I make this the pallet upon which I photograph my subjects. Be assured what I do will not be seen elsewhere.

I respect my mother immensely. I say this to emphasize that I will not make a photograph that I could not proudly share with her.

My background:
College graduate, B.A. political science, minors in history and education. Teaching credentials: General Secondary (life, California) and elementary. I am a former school teacher, football and wrestling coach, social worker (public assistance, juvenile probation,) Oregon bottom and shrimp fisherman, oilfield derrick hand, logger, Alaska king crab fisherman, Marine Corps Officer, and Master Mason.

I am single; I have never smoked (except a few candy cigarettes); I have never been drunk, and that includes drinking my host, the Minister of Culture in Magadan Region, Russia, under the table. I have never taken anything that was not prescribed; the strongest substance I have experienced was emperin codeine, when severely frostbitten feet suffered in a climbing accident, hospitalized me for a month at the V.A. Hospital.

I am basically a vegan, clearly eccentric, but not weird, (in case you wondered.)

My interest is to network with worthy subjects and to benefit from studying the work of others. It is useful to gain insight to new paradigms of thought; there is something to learn from all things.

I recognize my parents, whose influence, in no small way, contributed to my insistence upon excellence, as well as the benefits that have accrued to me from exposure to their wonderful sense of good taste. I give credit to my high school football/track coach, Martin Soliah, who got me to perform way beyond any fantasy I had previously, and who charged me with a life encouragement, saying, "keep up your intense desire and you will succeed and excel in every endeavor." Additionally, I have little doubt that the  Marine Corps Officer Candidate Program (PLC) honed my unrelenting quest to maximize my potential. With humility, I say that I am most fortunate.
