I was born on the 4th of July in Toronto, Canada and although I studied visual arts and photography when I was young, I consider myself to be self-taught in vocation. My interest to give expression to invented realities comes from when I was young and would draw or paint in my sketch book. Growing up I always had a love for taking photos and collecting vintage cameras. I adored the smell of the darkroom and the sound of winding film in a camera but it wasn't until the digital age began, that I was seduced indefinitely. I could now create other worlds, other realities that, although invented, seemed true. I don't have to wait for the paint to dry on the canvas anymore.
In my mid twenties I was diagnosed with ADD and rather than opting to suppress what some would call a disorder, I embraced it. I decided I would allow my vivid and rambling imagination to take me and my audience on a wonderful journey of visuals that will never be niched. My work liberates me so I will always strive to liberate my work.
My photos are works of imagination, some of which I have pondered in great detail and others that are more like small flashes of clarity. I try to give expression to fixed images without any expectation other than maybe someone will stop for an instant and observe it with a little more attention. As I grow in my field, I am drawn to the world of advertising and how imagery can invoke such strong emotions within seconds and influence another person to react and take action.
On this journey I have met some amazing artists and creatives that have influenced me greatly and allowed me to discover new mediums from which to express my art. Motion pictures have become a new love of mine and I expanded my company with a film division where I can produce and sometimes even direct short films and videos . I enjoy working with so many talented and passionate people who are willing to forego the usual 9 to 5 for something more fulfilling that could possibly touch others on a deeper level and ignite their own imaginations. We are the dreamers who dare to bring our creations to life.
