Tyna was introduced to the arts and photography from a young age. Both parents are artistically driven photographers, and opened doorways for Tyna's artistic expression in many different art forms.
Tyna's first love of art came in the form of dance. She attended ballet, tap and jazz from her early elementary years, and added ballroom and bellydance in her teens. The various styles of dance have helped her understand her body very intimately, and allows her to take direction very well. She now teaches ballroom dancing in a studio in Victoria, BC.
Creating and understanding art continued to sway Tyna's life through her university years as she studied English Literature and History at the University of Toronto. With very little time or money to continue her dance classes, Tyna turned to modeling as a side job through her university career.
It was late 2007, when Tyna was still only 17 years old and attending her first year at university, that she decided that she wanted to pursue modeling seriously. She took a modeling course with Sutherland Models in late 2008 to further develop her skills and hasn't stopped learning all she can ever since.
Over the years, Tyna has overcome many challenges with the modeling industry, but her love of what she does and the enjoyment she gets out of every shoot and fashion show drive her on to continue improving her various skill sets as a model.
The most exciting aspect of modeling for her has always been the exhilarating opportunities to try something new and creative. Ultimately, Tyna strives to create meaning through the art that she has the pleasure of collaborating on.
Now an international model after her successful contract to Tokyo, Tyna plans on traveling across North America more regularly for work.
