Now living just south of Kansas City.
Some things to know about me and my goals as a photographer are that I’m not planning world conquest or to single handedly change the face of fashion and I’m not out to dazzle everyone who crosses my path. I’d just like to continue improving as a photographer and artist, to be able to create images that will at least stop some people in their tracks long enough to take a look and to be able to say with some pride, “I did that.”
Diana under a grumpy sky.
I’m working on expanding my portfolio in the areas of portrait, fashion, glamour, lifestyle, editorial, implied nude and nude. For now, unless a paid gig comes my way, most shoots will be TFCD & TFP. Every time I do a shoot, my intent is to not only benefit my own portfolio, but to also add some solid images to a model’s portfolio.
Ashley in black & white.
If you work with me, I won’t yell at you or be mean. I won’t try to take advantage of you or trick you into doing something you’re uncomfortable with. I may be a bit goofy at times, but I’m not weird, strange or bizarre. I’m a pretty average kind of guy.
What I will do is discuss ideas in detail with you so we have at least a basic game plan going into a shoot. I’ll direct you, prompt you, cheer you on, maybe dare you on occasion, laugh in your general direction, tease you, make funny faces to get you to loosen up and try to make working with me as positive an experience as possible. We’ve all heard that saying haven’t we? We’re not trying to cure cancer here. We’re trying to create great images and while sometimes those images may have great importance, there’s still no reason we can’t enjoy creating them.
Ashley having fun.
Models who work with me on a TFCD basis will receive a disc with all of the final images, edited and brought to their best quality in post production. That doesn’t mean every single image from a shoot. It means every final image I think is good enough to keep after careful editing. Whatever the final count is . . . five, a dozen, or twenty finished images . . . a model will get all of those images on the disc and is free to use them at her or his discretion. I’m a firm believer that the model deserves to have all of the best images from a shoot, especially a TF shoot.
A disc with the finished images will be furnished as fast as I can furnish it. It may be a few days, it may be a week or a bit longer. It depends on circumstances and what else is happening in my life. As I finish post work on images, I like to e-mail copies to models so they can see the progress and results of our shoot. The images I e-mail are sized appropriately to put up on Model Mayhem or other sites. The images on the disc will be the full mega-pixel sized versions, suitable for high quality prints.
Ashley and her sexy attitude.
What I can’t do and won’t do, is provide a disc of raw images the day of the shoot, or at any other time. Letting a model take off with the unfinished images from a shoot certainly defeats my goals of producing my best work and in most cases it won’t be that beneficial to the model.
I don’t respond well to flaky behavior. I’ve encountered this more than once since I got back to some serious shooting and it’s highly annoying. It’s a crazy world. Shit happens. Vehicles break down, friends offering rides don’t follow through, accidents occur, family members suddenly pass away and models either postpone or cancel at the last minute, or in some cases just don’t show for a meeting or shoot. I understand this. Things don’t always go perfectly. As long as a model makes an effort to notify me of changes and then follows through with setting up new shoot arrangements, I’m very patient. And for all the models out there . . . . it’s the same for photographers. Things don’t always go smoothly. Vehicles break down, accidents happen, etc., etc. It pays for you to be understanding too.
Lighting test and I'm the only model available. LOL
My blog offers a lot more information about me, starting with the very first post. Take a look. It’ll give you a bigger picture of who I am.
