The winner, Denise Dietrichs walked the runway on November 10th with the show’s veteran Chocolatier / designer, and Food Network Challenge Judge, Joelle Mahoney. Her 2010 chocolate creation features the fall fashion rage of ruffles, adorning an off shoulder, form fitting cocktail length dress, complimented by chocolate jewelry, a chocolate hat and shoe clip-ons of chocolate. Literally a chocolate delight from head to toe!
How did the dresses stay together you might ask. Stephane Bonnat, French chocolatier and owner of the oldest family owned chocolate factory in the world since 1884, had an answer. “They don’t.” Bonnat arrived in New York City Nov. 9th, the day before the Chocolate Show, with his dress completely broken. “I had to put the pieces together in my hotel room kitchen,” said Bonnat.
Bonnat dressed model Holly Dirig, from Ikon Models, in a chocolate dress named Pushing Boundaries.
“We are so happy to work with the world renowned International Chocolate Show and their wonderful Chocolatier designer teams, allowing these kids to walk the runway and help give back. It goes in tandem with their dreams, good values and inner beauty that we strive to instill”-
