BIOGRAPHY
Roq Monte was born September 20, 1986 in Flint, Michigan. He spent most of his childhood years in Los Angeles. Monte is considered a mixed when it comes to his race. Being part Japanese, Native American, Black and very skinny made him stand out in Elementary and Junior High School. Not stand out in a very proud way! All of his peers made fun of him because he was so skinny. When he started High School he decided to do something about his weight. He started a work-out plan. He worked out six days a week and changed his diet. His work-out consists of weight lifting and a lot of cardio. He had a very strict diet, boiled eggs no yolk in the morning, protein shakes after his work-out, and he had vegetable and fish or chicken for lunch and dinner, two snacks between meals. After much dedications and hard work he transformed his body and mind. He lowered his body fat percentage and increased his body mass. Monte was very proud of his accomplishment.
During his senior year and after graduation he did fashion shows and a few photo shoots which was done by amateur. Being told by many people he should be a model, he decided to surf the internet calling modeling agencies to see what he needed to do to become a model. He went to several agencies and was told the same thing. “You need a portfolio.”
2007 he sent an email to MTV G’s to Gents Reality Show in which he was cast. But unfortunately he did not get the email from Mr. Bently, the producer in time enough to be cast in the 1st season. He was replaced! Monte was very upset. Mr. Benlty called him for the 2nd seasons. This was Monte break. He had his 1st professional photo shoot. Being filmed for the show, he appeared to be a natural for the TV cameras. On the reality show he was known as the Pretty Boy. Trying to stick with the theme of the show, he could not pretend to be something he wasn’t, “a thug.” Unfortunately he was one of the first to be eliminated because he wanted to pursue a career as a model.
Monte goal is to pursue an acting career and become a model. He plans to take some acting classes and surround himself with people that will be beneficial in making the giant step from being the boy who stood out because he was so skinny, to the man that made it!
