About Daniel Koye
As a highly respected stylist in the industry Daniel Koye has experienced a lot to get where he is today.
Studying hair creations, style and fashion at a leading beauty school in New Jersey he built the foundation to start his styling career.
After graduating Daniel wanted to explore his options within the industry to gain experience and to see where he would fuel his creativity the most.
Beginning in a salon he found it wasn’t for him yet there he gained experience to get the opportunity to work for Broadway shows. Including Spring Awakening, Chicago, Jersey Boys, Curtains, Patti Lupone Gypsy, HAIR. Mary Poppins. Here he unleashed his creativity to please hundreds and thousands of people in the audience every night.
While working on Broadway DKOYE Concepts was born which led him to design for off-Broadway, regional, and theatrical school productions including: Miss Abigail’s Guide: to dating, mating, and marriage staring Eve Plumb (Jan Brady from the Brady Bunch), Error of the Moon, The Sea Gull, Tommy, Curtains, Guys and Dolls, Les Miserable, Cats, Jekyll and Hyde, Is He Dead, and Hairspray.
Daniel was asked to travel to London’s West End and set up the Original Cast of HAIR.
He styled hair for stars including Katie Holmes, Josh Dumal and Anna Pacquin on set of the Romantics.
Small Screen was a natural transition where Koye was contracted to work on shows including: Law and Order Criminal Intent, where he served as personal hair stylist both to Jeff Goldblum and Saffron Burrows. He had the great opportunity to design Heidi Klum of Project Runway’s Halloween costumes' wig. Other celebrities, soap stars and Broadway Stars Daniel has designed for include: Susan Lucci, Lucy Lu, Lea Michelle, SEAL, Alice Jenning, Florence Henderson, Eve Plumb, Bobbie Eaks, Anthony Gear, Carol Channing, Leah Solonga, Kristen Alderson, Melissa Archer, Florencia Lozana, Brittany Underwood, Kristen Wyatt, Karen Olivo, Mandy Gonzalez.
Daniel believes in the power of one and giving back to the community where he volunteers as the hair and wig coordinator for Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids annual benefit Broadway Bares (BCEFA) to help fight Aids. Daniel has created three hair care products exclusive for BCEFA where 75% of the proceeds benefit BCEFA.
Daniel thought that everyone should have the opportunity to feel as beautiful as he makes the stars, and this is how DKOYE Hair Care Products began.
