Based in Chicago, many recent projects have been depicted in Mexico and Italy.
Particularly excited to return to Italy for much of the 2013 summer, having won the competitive artist-in-residency from 33 Officina Creativa in Toffia.
I primarily concentrate on images emphasizing narrative, location and human gesture. Recent projects fluctuate between stills and video and find a home in gallery or museum environments.
Models with interesting backgrounds, who appear to be ethnically ambiguous, or speak multiple languages can always find a place here. I don't claim to have one aesthetic, but more often than not, I tend to work with models with a completely natural look or very little by way of piercing or tattoo. I'm motivated to photograph behavior rather than traditional posing.
I am moving more in the direction of working on longer video takes and scripted scenes. Models who can really handle acting, in still photography, please drop a line.
Whatever the narrative, it's going to be founded on long takes, sustained emotion, ambiguous gestures, temporal locations, ruins, the sea, memory, dreams, chance, accidents. I can't bring myself to use the word 'storytelling'.
