I was just wondering if any of you know of any great thirft stores or outlets in NYC where they have fantastic clothing, accessories, etc.

there are quite a few around st marks place.  prices vary wildly.

33st 5ave(not sure about address again) It's a church and if you go downstairs, there's actually a thrift store down there. Great prices, must dig. The church is on a side street. I'll check back on address and get back to here...

ahh....i forgot about the flea markets.  there's a great one btw 9th and 10th around 40th st (i think?).  i got my super-groovy vintage leather jacket at the one on 17th and 6th. 

be prepared to do some violence to the tourists, though.

None are very thrifty these days.  They're "vintage."

Seek out Salvation Army type places in the outer boroughs for actual thrift.  Supposedly, there's an excellent Salvation Army in the garment district. Pricier, but actually good.
