So whats your rig like?

Right now my main guitar is a 1981 Skylark Standard (7 piece body, 3 piece neck) loaded with a Duncan Custon in the bridge and a Duncan Jazz in the neck. Im playing that through a Marshall JCM 2000 50w head and 4x12 cab.

Sold everything a couple years ago in a fit of stupidity,(US made strat, 'no-name' wah pedal, + CUBE amp w/ chorus & reverb)  but picked up a dusty Westone Concord II in a pawnshop not long ago, realized that the little beauty could do everything from sweet jazz to raunch-n-roll.  It looks very 'Flock of Seagulls' in seafoam green, but I think I like that aspect now.  Only running it through a little Marshall practice amp for now, but the gain goes up to 11, so I may not part with it... plus all 'extra' cash seems to go to photography gear....

Danelectro longhorn bass, a Peavey "Fender Jazz"-like bass, Epiphone Casino, Epiphone G-1275 double neck. That's 4 guitars too many for a drummer to have! smile

I had a Candy Apple red Yamaha SC300T when I was in High School! Maybe I should not have sold it, I could have put it on Ebay. Its fetching about 99 cents in Canada at the moment.....LOL

All I have now is a guitar tattoo, and I have to resist the temptation to fall in love with any guy who can impress me with his awesome Guitar skills.

1970 Martin D35, 1976 Ovation Limited Edition Patriot, 1974 Gibson F5 Mandolin, Model 30 Kohno Classical guitar, Ovation electric (geez, the hatchet-looking one, got to get it out of storage) Sada (Not Alvarez) Yairi outfitted with a Takamine pickup, Kamaka Ukulele, circa 1965. Also have a German zither.

Wish I still had my '72 Strat and Les Paul Studio, but I always kinda sucked at electric. That's why the Ovation electric is in storage. The Strat was my love though, if I buy another guitar, it would be that Strat.

I was just checking the Ovation archives for the name of it, they don't even list it. The name will come to me. it has a cherry red finish, solid body. I just have to go get it out of storage, unless you know the name of it. There were two models at the time. This is the better one.

celebrity? if that is it, that is the lower end Ovation model, but still really nice.In any case, get it out of storage and keep it somehwere in your house. Having it in a storage unit that is not climate controlled can subject it to severe weather change damage, like a crooked neck, cracks, etc.

No not the celebrity. Don't worry, I take care of guitars. The Uke and the Yairi are kind of beat up though, beach guitars. The others are cherry.

The Deacon, maybe? The cheaper model had this teflon kind of finish. This one is mahogany with a cherry red finish.

I have a Schecter Stiletto bass, Fender Strat, and a LP Custom. I also have a classical and a Taylor acoustic.

The only pics I have right now are of my bass and strat, on Brianna Jane's MM port (MM#65139):

I would love to have an acoustic bass, like the Ernie Ball, or an electric like a Rickenbacker. So much fun.

Whammy bars are for poseurs! and  whammy bars wouldtake on a whole new meaning if this guy would make a male six string version.

It sounds like I've got newer equipment than everyone else here. I have 4 guitars, I play 7 string mainly, and have 2 of those, an Ibanez 7321 and a Steve Vai custom 7 string Universe which I don't play, worth too much money. I have an Ibanez acoustic, and a ESP Horizon 6 string. I play through a BOSS GT-6 processor and a Randall half stack.

My grandmother bought me a cherry red '58 Les Paul TV Special with 2 P-90's and a little tweed Gibson amp when I was 15. How I bitterly regret selling it to buy a set of drums. BUt, I needed the drums and still play drums regularly.

Now I have a Schecter 006 and a Behringer CX-something with 2-12's

Classical Guitar...  1974 Alvaraz I inherited from my father.  Possibly made from Brazilian Rosewood.  I love playing it.  Beautiful sound.  I've been neglecting it lately.

You can't possibly be serious about this. Adrian Belew and Jimi Hendrix are poseurs? Are piano pedals for poseurs too?

People who are air guitarists are poseurs, instruments are not. Maybe a whammy bar on an acoustic instrument would be a case for fraud, but if you play electric, you have to have fun. I want a Strat with a well-tuned whammy bar. Call me shameless. Where else can you go down with a note as well as up? When did VERSATILITY become posing, Was Leo Fender a poser?

Geez I guess slide guitar and steel guitar is for poseurs too, let's out Bonnie Raite and David Lindley while we are at it.

Electric:
I have a black Schecter (dont know the series) that i run through an old "heavy metal petal (that the bitch from the band L7 tried to steal) i sold my Gebson SG cause it wasn't giving me the sustain I wanted.  I play it through a 100 (but i pulled one of the rubes so it would feed easier) watt Marshall head with a 4x 12 ( beat to shit) marshal cab.

Acoustic:
I have a pretty teal green Ovation pinicle series full body six string.
All my friends tease me about having an ovation but.... It sounds like God when it plugged in.

Well... I have an acoustic and an electric, but I totally suck (I don't know why I have them). I got the electric not too long ago when I was "drafted" by a couple friends to play in their non-existant Goth band. We've refused to play all gigs, and we haven't even bothered to name the band. We're just way too apathetic. But the guitar is an ebony black Epiphone Les Paul custom (I really wish I had the real thing, but then again one of those should really only be in the hands of a real player). I also have a Fender Stage 100 DSP amp and a small assortment of effect pedals. Now if only I could play the damn thing...
