I see these terms thrown around the site quite a bit but what exactly do they mean?

I think it has to do with how you position your knees ... in Playboy, they're locked tightly together. In Hustler, they're in different zip codes.

The terms generally refer to the level of explicitness of the photos.  "Playboy style" indicates that the images won't be any racier than you'd find in Playboy Magazine (full nudes, but no spreads).  Hustler Magazine publishes much harder core images (spreads, insertion, etc).

I Haven't looked at a Hustler in a long time. Are they actually photographing insertions now?

UNREQUESTED ADVICE:  I think you should try for Playboy. More prestige, more money, leads to more opportunities, etc., etc., etc. And you're certainly beautiful enough.

My distinguished colleagues have already explained the difference between the two styles.

As someone who is versed in both, it is a level of explicitness. And whoever here said that PB is better - holy fucking shit, is all I have to say. If anyone would like further clarification, look in the dictionary under "high priced whore house".

In Hustler, the models open up their legs and "spread em"...Lol...

They also usually insert something in the sets... a finger or toy...

playboy doesn't do that...

edit: for link "insertion".... lol

No, but just the image of a girl spreading her legs so that one leg was in California and the other was in NY made me giggle a little.

I remember seeing insertions in Hustler 20 years ago.

One thing to be a little careful about is that these magazines are somewhat moving targets and sometimes there's a bit of a generation gap thing.  If you're not sure what a specific job entails, ask.  If they're not willing to say "I want to take pictures of your naughty bits" they're not adult enough to be taking pictures of your naughty bits.

What did the Hustler centerfold put behind her ears to attract photographers?

The term "Playboy style" has traditionally been used as a euphamism for "everything up to but not including pink." Is that new?  And is that in the main magazine or just their other enterprises?  I've never seen anything more than the faintest hint of inner labia, but I'm not an avid Playboy peruser.

Playboy style: You see their tonsils from there open lips on their face.

Hustler style: You see their tonsils from the other open lips.

Playboy = close-up of the bunny
Penthouse = close-up of the clitoris
Screw (if Al Goldstein is still around) = close-up of the cervix

Glamour nudes.
vs. art nudes, or fetish, or porn.  Playboy is more glamour, Hustler is a little more pornish.
