I'm definitely up for the bed and breakfast M&G. Yeah, same here. That would be pretty awesome. We just can't forget about extra expenses for name tags, printing the waivers, etc.

I have waivers somewhere from when I use to give them to people coming in my studio or escorts etc.. We'd have to change the wording and make sure whatever management was ok with it. I'll look for them over the holidays. If I can't find them, i can get the attorney I use to possibly draw up a rough draft.

So, I'm thinking if we are paying $10 a person, if we charge like $15, we'd be able to cover all the added expenses. Alright, I really wanna help plan this thing. I have to go, but I'll be back on in a few hours or so.

I'll work on it and either place it online or send it to a few people via email and someone will always have it when planning something.

The problem with events that use wristbands is that A: they're useless without security anyway, and B: all the wrist bands showing in the photos! Even when I dump a swimming pool full of rose petals on them, you can STILL see the wristbands! DOH! It comes down to having volunteers. People need to work a schedule of shifts at the door greeting people and getting name tags and stuff sorted out. We'll need people to volunteer to clean up (ugh), and finally people to keep an eye out for trouble during the event, mediate conflict, and be the go-to people for anyone who needs help with something. Anarchy, contrary to popular belief, does not go smoothly. Volunteerism does work though

I'm still anxious to see mine. P.S. where is this bed and breakfast place? I'd love to try and be involved in it, seeing as this one didn't quite go the way it was planned. One a bit more organized would be amazing.

I think name tags will do fine and not the wristbands. Maybe we should have an RSVP only event, with a guest list. That way people can pay in advance and we'd know exactly who is coming.

People would request an invitation to attend, and then when we have enough people who want to go they'll all get notified they're "approved" and can pay for their invite and then we can book the space. If people bail, they're out a few bucks, no biggie. Then run a will-call nametag station at the door. People love volunteering to be greeters, you get to meet everyone!!! Its not that complex, and it becomes a private event instead of a public event, and that makes it much less likely a cop will shoo you out! They're not allowed in! They don't have invites!

They can also help as added help. LOL. I use to work security at a alternative club so I have a few connects. If we have it at the place where I'm trying to get a studio they have security as well. I just have to see what they would charge us cause they may not lets us go for free.

Okay perfect. We can have a master guest list at the front entrance as well, to check people off as they get there. We need to set a date for this thing so we can start preparations. I'm assuming towards this spring would work out well. Get all the holidays out of the way and warmer weather for shooting.

One a bit more organized would be amazing. Its in the mountains near the skyline drive in central VA. Click on the images for info: This is the floorplan: There is also a small cottage and a large field. http://www.acorninn.com/intro.shtml Its very close to the skyline drive, crabtree falls, south end of the Shenandoah national park, mountain streams, mountain vistas, rocky cliffs, etc. for those who want to go on field trips.

Yes, the spring is best for the rural mountain outdoor aspect. We need to know we have enough people (at least 35) and then check the availability of the B&B and set a date once we know we can cover the rent or deposit or whatever.

I'm pretty sure that we will get that many people, but its better to be safe and know for sure. So, I'm going to estimate this thing around March or April.

Thanks! How much would this be a head? Would we be using the inn, the farmhouse, or what? I think the farmhouse looks the most interesting to me. Would we be renting out the whole place by contributing X AMOUNT a head? That would probably be alot of money, so I doubt that's probable. Winchester is by what big cities? Sorry for the 20 questions... I'm just trying to find out if this is an option for me or not. It's like a 4 hour drive for me, like I said, so thats gas money, plus however much fee it is to attend, alot to consider. If we did do this, could we come earlier than 10? If I do I'd like to get in as much camera time as possible, as this seems like a great location, and its a big trip for me. EDIT: Scratch that, I just google mapped it and its 3 hours, 38 minutes.

I'm just going by what they charge for weddings. The more people you have the less it costs per person. You have to rent it out for two nights if its a weekend. There is a farmhouse and a cabin too. The cabin is part of the deal. There is one room for rent in the farmhouse but they do live there so I don't know if they want a parade of people coming through it. You'd have to ask them about that one.

OK normally I wouldn't post anything like this, and I'm not one to be the bitchy type, but this is NOT COOL. I did NOT give IKandi Photography the right to post my image, and I'm VERY angry that he did so without my permission. It's unprofessional. I did NOT sign a model release, therefore he has no LEGAL right to use my images without my consent. And now he posted it, but I dont want others to see it..I'm not happy at all with the way they turned out. What do I do?

My problem is that they're not good quality pictures... I think ALOT of models didnt sign releases. I didn't sign a single one the whole time, all I would've liked is someone asking me to post them before doing so, because the pictures are NOT flattering at all... and hes not taking them down after I've asked him to.

Then I sent a copy of the email I sent him on MM to him just in case. Then I commented the photo. He's still not taken it down. Likewise. Thanks for being awesome about it. I was afraid to post anything on the forums, because I didnt want people to think I'm some big premadonna that is hard to work with, I'm not at all, I simply ask for the common courtesy of asking my opinion of a photo before posting it for the world to see. My name is on the line too you know? Hopefully we will get to work together soon.

He should have at least emailed you a copy of the form that he would want you to sign before he posts the photos, and at least asked your permission! He shouldn't post the photos without all the business side taken care of. I think thats unprofessional practice; but that all can be discerned from a quick inspection of his photos.
