Wow. OK. I'm pretty excited. I'm a huge fan of MUFE HD powder (who isn't?) and I know its just very very fine silica spheres. I found very very fine silica spheres through Coastal Scents -- the same place that sells those super cheap but slightly questionable palettes. So I ordered the silica spheres. At $4 an ounce, what have I got to lose, right? Well it arrived today, and I have been comparing it to my MUFE HD powder for like twenty minutes and I can detect no difference in how finely milled it is, how it applies, how it looks, how it feels... I haven't tested in on camera, but as far as I can tell, its the same exact stuff, but for a ridiculously good price!

Here's a link to what I bought:

http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebstore … -stock.cfm

I'll be reporting back soon about how well it photographs, but so far I'm pretty excited smile

Anyway, happy holidays everyone!

I bought the 88 color eyeshadow palette. It isn't like, TOP quality stuff, but most of the colors are densely pigmented and photograph pretty well. I mostly use it when inspiration strikes and I want to test something on myself.

I also buy my pigments from them. They aren't beautifully packaged but they are good quality and CHEAP. They have sent me samples of some of their mica powders, which seem to be pretty standard.

My cart is already at $60 sad *sob*

lol.

Thanks for posting this girl, I'm gonna order some... That contouring palette looks REALLY tempting. AS does the 28 natural color eye palette....

Rahh! I need to stop myself! But my reasoning is that I need more matte shadows for HD, and this'd be ALOT cheaper than going and buying individual ones from mac or something, even WITH the discount.

Le sigh. Shall I take the risK?

I know! I always find myself shopping online, and usually it is much cheaper.
You should see me on Zappos. Free Returns? Bad thing for me to know....

That's a good idea, I think I'll hold out until I hear more/see photographs from y'all smile

I've been wondering about that 88 palette...
I bought it just so that I would have a palette at home to practice with while my kit was in class, but are they any good for photography?

What are your thoughts on the Fyrinnae?

Hmmm, I might have to check this stuff out...since oyu said their palletes are questionable, maybe their items are just hit or miss like some other lines. Hopefully this powder is a hit....we shall see...

That's what MUFE HD powder basically is-finely milled silica powder. I can't imagine it to be any different...but you shall be the guinea pig smile.

But I've been DYING to buy that 13 gel eyeliner set. I'm waiting until they have a sale (which they do have pretty frequently).

I was just messing around with the 88 color palette so I could show you guys just how vibrant some of the colors can get. Please excuse my horrible eyebrows, and the silly shapes and sloppy work. Just wanted to share!

They blend relatively easily. I have very few complaints about these shadows overall.

I also received the neutral palette with my most recent order. I played around with it and I like it! It has plenty of matte shadows, which I am SO happy about, but also a few very shimmery and very glittery shadows too.

From what I've heard, the CC powder isn't as finely milled as the MUFE. I've never tried the CC powder, but it certainly does sound to good to be true. That, or MUFE's been pulling a fast one. I don't have a microscope to be sure.

Either way, I

Yes, my man got me the 28 pc neutral palette and the newer one the 26 blush and eyeshadow combo palette for xmas.
I also got a multi coloured one too and again, pretty vibrant.
They are really good and give good colour payoff.
Oh and got the gel eyeliner in indigo blue, lovely colour and goes on well.
I asked for lots of different makeup from various places for my xmas and am really pleased with what i have used so far from that site.
Of course i always use a good eyeshadow primer, but even doing swatches first on my hand i was pleasantly surprised.

Cheaper doesnt always mean pure pants! big_smile

This stuff is all cool but I would keep it out of the lungs at all costs - fumed silica spheres do not break down ever - and probably have the same effect in the lungs as asbestos and glass insulation - cancer.  Just my thought, no real evidence.

Do it, you wont be sorry.
I wasnt sure whether to risk it either but it does blend well and look good on.
I kid you not.
Bloomin good price too and the palettes themselves dont look cheap and nasty.
If wasnt such a hassle and as costly for me over here i would order more.
My man got hit again with the duty charges, lol

Edit: i prob will order that contour one.... HUGE sized pans!! lol

LOL.  Nah.  But I'm dying for someone that has both to do a photo comparison.  1/2 side of the face with one and the other side with the other.  I might have to break down and order this to do the test myself.  wink
