Aug 03 09 10:29 pm Link I think Steven hit it on the head but there are ways to do this in PS. You could duplicate the image... put a horizontal motion blur on it and soft mask it into the areas you want blurred. But looking at the picture, it looks like you'd have to soft select certain parts of the main image for blur... create it's own layer.. mask.. and repeat numerous times. I've never tried it but I think you could probably get something similar. -PKD Aug 03 09 10:32 pm Link StephenEastwood wrote: +1 Aug 03 09 10:33 pm Link any ideas about the color casts ? Depending on how bright a hotlight you may use a small flashlight or a large 1million candlewatt light. Aug 03 09 11:12 pm Link Just to avoid confusion, are you looking to take a photo like this, or to do the effect in PS, or a combination? Motion Blur, several different layers set to different layer settings (overlay, darken, exc...) with different areas masked in to taste.
