Ive seen a couple images now where the model is touched up to look like a doll.. with the removable limbs and everything.  Anyone know how this is done?  It looks pretty awesome.

Do you have an example? Are the limbs actually off, or do they have the effect of looking like they can move/be adjusted like a Barbie? I assume you mean the latter, in which case it is done by painting and a lot of time and patience.

Let me try and remember the photographer so I can provide an example.  But, Ive seen it done a couple different ways.  i saw one where the limbs were attached but they look like barbies, even the breasts.. look EXACTLY like a barbie doll.  Then I saw another where it was the models body but there was a slight gap between where the limbs attach.  For example, at the shoulders, the neck, the wrists, etc.  Does that make sense?

Plastic Doll? Nothing unusual about that. They look pretty much like every front cover of Cosmo I've seen for the last two years.

The guy that does something like this, not so much "Barbie" dolls, is Jefferyscott 1019.  Sorry I don't know MM#.  His stuff is unbelievablely good.

I did something doll-like a couple of years ago. I basically blurred the skin a lot and painted insome new highlights .

Cool. Particularly like her t^&ts. Is that what they call plastic surgery?

You can use layer styles to paint the "gaps." Just set the fill opacity to 0%, then use the bevel/emboss style to add the depth. You can basically paint with "gaps."

Surface blur, reduced vibrance, oversharpened.

Yes the lines are, as Mike says, a bevel/emboss layer style.

Well I just did this on yesterday. It's more a puppet than a doll. But if you type photoshop tutorials and puppet in goggle or yahoo it'll give you what I used to do this one. Hope it helps.
