Essential Toto...1999:^))
An underrated band IMHO...They could do pure pop, prog rock, metal, jam band
and do them all well...the bass player was insanely good!
They didn't NEED the studio either...superb live shows.

The sound of my life force dripping into broken pots and shattered dreams.  Each drop as loud as a drum.

oh, that sucks. i've been playing electric guitar since i was 13. even then, i would cover up my ears. i've been to hundreds of loud concerts as well, and always knew i wanted to protect my hearing. it's too valuable to me. even if i had to stuff toilet paper in my ears, i would do it.

they all laughed then...they aren't laughing now.

i am at the namm show this weekend. everyone there over the age of 35 is stone deaf, or just about there. i'd rather just go deaf, than deal with tinnitus. sorry you have it.

was it from loud music? work? general environment? in either event, sorry to hear that...no pun.

oh, and i'm listening to "mexican moon", by concrete blonde. the album, not just the song.

Loud music, work (Air Force jets, nightclub work, etc), ear infections, abuse from scuba diving, etc.

not to derail this thread, but have you ever tried getting a generic tone generator, and closely matching whatever frequencies you hear in your head, to see if they cancel each other out? that is, if it is a constant drone of one frequency. obviously, that wouldn't work if it fluctuates.

how long ago were you in the usaf? my son just got out a couple years ago. he worked on the flight line a lot, but they are VERY big on ppe's now. most importantly, on hearing protection.

i know (from engineering audio) that matched frequencies tend to cancel each other out, or throw them out of phase. i wonder if any of that has been tried in the attempts to alleviate symptoms of tinnitus.

They have to be identical and 180deg out of phase to cancel.
