The email contact came from [email protected] and same as everyone else, the person claims to be Tommy Middleton in HR with Hello Magazine. HUGE Scam, they say they want to send you money and you have to WIRE $500 to a stylist. If it sounds too good to be true, it is! Nov 29 13 07:15 am Link PLEASE HELP. I'm new at this so in my excitement I did e-mail them (from my e-mail, not mm messaging) my information, as you know includes; name, addy, age, phone.... I obviously made a mistake... but, how bad is this? Should I be concerned they have that info? I feel my name,addy, phone and age is pretty simple information to achieve without me telling them. I haven't received any mail from them yet and if I do will be sure to not cash it... Is there anything else I should do? Just ignore them and they'll move on to the next victim. Remember, most of these scammers are in Nigeria, so they're not going to hunt you down and harm you (even though they may threaten to). But be aware that scammers sell email addresses to each other, so expect to get lots of emails about wealthy dead relatives and princes who want to share their fortune with you. "Tommy Middleton" said the job would be for a November issue of the magazine but said in a later email the shoot date was December 14th and 15th.. Also be aware of bad grammar and odd wording as my messages were full of it. I received this bogus check in the mail today for $1875 even though I was told the total amount would be $1100. It had a return address from Pawtucket, RI with the address on the check inside from LA from Otis College of Art electronically signed by some woman. I got another email from "Tommy" saying that I had to IMMEDIATELY WIRE funds from Western Union to the "stylist" Sandra Harper in TEXAS. Ya ok.
