In the last year my eye for model photography has changed considerably. Truth be told, I am finding the emotive style of deviantart much more to my taste than the high luster images that seem to be the industry standard displayed here at MM.

Here's an example of a three bodies of work that have been stirring my creative pool:

My concern is that there is very little demand in the glamour, beauty, and fashion driven commercial industry for these style of images. It feels like my taste for photography is taking on more of a "creative outlet" role than a "career path". This is fine, but I would really like to get a bead what might lie ahead as I rarely see this style of emotive work in media.

My concern is that you can't separate glamour from what could be some great images to the public.

Photography doesn't always have to be about sex or getting someone nekked.

Just looks like the new stock photo cliche to me.

Those types of looks (in the links) are everywhere in fashion photography these days (maybe even too much).

Don't base your observations on what is current in fashion by what you see on free, public glamour modeling web sites.

Around here we have guys claiming to be "beauty, and fashion" photographers who have never had any legitimate beauty, or fashion assignments in their entire lives!

Fashion publications are more diverse than ever in the range of photograpy styles in print, cut off the computer, go to the book store with open eyes, and mind.

Good feedback. Seems like my experience with what I deem "industry standard" are those images I see in here at MM and in digital media. I don't peruse too many print zines, but come to think of it there does seem to be more emotive style photos that are soft, moody, over-exposed, low contrast, ect.

MM is not industry standards

Go look at some fashion magazines - books- exhibitions.

My fave mayhemism is "photographers" not knowing what style they shoot labeling everything "Editorial", never having talked with an editor, or had any editorial assignments.
