she did NOT break up the beatles. in the end, john felt he was losing control of the band he started. it was becoming paul's band, and he couldn't deal with it. yoko ono wanted nothing more than to have the beatles stay together. she was mortified with the prospects of having to deal with him 24/7. as far as her 'talent' goes? i have no clue what that might be. she certainly isn't a capable singer, and a lot of pop art goes right past me. there have always been those who manage to bamboozle enough 'artsy' types into always appearing to be relevant, and she seems to fit that mold. her voice makes me want to drown puppies, that's all i know...and i love puppies. maybe berkowitz was listening to her, and thought it was a dog.

I was soooo excited. The day of the event, I'm driving to her hotel and I got a call, she decided to go without makeup. Made me sad. They still paid me but that wasn't the point.

I wouldnt cross the street to meet her, but that is a long way from "hating" her.

Yes, John did some drawings... Music was his bag. Yoko was clearly no singer... not a voice say like Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, or *insert unusual sound here*, but for the obvious. If it's not obvious and still 'artistic'/avant-garde to anyone, at least sing on pitch. The screaming is like really tone-deaf Middle Eastern music with a vibrato that you can drive a Mac-truck through. I would however be the first in line to witness such a thing, drinking wine and eating cheese and air clapping with my fingertips. Yoko did however inspire a different mind-set and that I respect. Artists do that... so can anyone; even someone who never picked up a paintbrush/instrument/camera/etc. To be so bold with yourself and the world

First of all: NO Yoko Ono did NOT break up the Beatles. They were having problems that didn't come from her escalating in 1968. Primarily because the fame was going to Lennon's head a he thought that he was the only member of the band who mattered and McCarthy was jealous wanted Lennon's place in the spot light, when it was actually Harrison who was carrying the band. This is very evident in the last Beatles Album "Abby Road" where most of the songs were written composed and sung by Harrison, with the exception of the two done by MaCarthy, and one by Ringo. Lennon is noticeably absent from the album with the exception of of one song that was the subject of a lawsuit since John plagiarized lines from Chuck Berry's songs. The band officially broke up in 1970. It had little to do with her and more with John's fight for spot light with McCarthy and his fight with Harrison to try to stay the talented song writer. Thankfully Harrison was able to cut loose the dead weight from his coat tails and had a successful career as an artist without being a smug self righteous bastard(Macarthy) a pretentious jerk(Lennon) or a brain dead retard(Ringo). God bless Harrison and his songs. ANYWHO As for Yoko Ono her self, a lot of people don't like her simply because they didn't understand her style of music back then as she was too far ahead of her time. That doesn't make her a talented visionary, just a crazy person. Her music became more acceptable, but not less terrible, in the late 70s and 80s when wacky music was more interesting and no one had any taste. I personally don't really care for her music, but she did inspire John to write enough passable music for him to coast on until his death, and for her to live on the royalties. So I guess that is a talent its self. And she is a decent humanitarian. I met her once when I was in NYC she told me I reminded her of her husband only without the talent, bitch. Just kidding about that last part but she did say I reminded her of Lennon.

Maybe it appeals to today's spoken-word poets that hang at the Bowery Poetry Club trying to re-create the 'Beat Generation', hence Beatnik culture. There ARE some good ones;) Or maybe I'll crack an egg on my head, stand next to the Andy Warhol statue in Union Square... maybe with a few woodwinds and sitar... with a very strong political dialect in verse. Yes, with a big eye painted on the back of my head in a bald wig-cap. Performance Art!

I don't hate her, never think about her and if she did not marry John I never would have heard of her. To me she is less significant than Lindsey Lohan.

I am perhaps in the minority, but I am a Beatles fan from way back who does not blame Yoko for anything having to do with the band breaking up. It would've happened with or without her. Many so called fans do not listen to what John and Paul have said in the past about this issue of the band break up. If anything, I believe Yoko saved John's life from self destruction. I believe he was doing drugs & drinking more when not with her. There are very few people that I hate, but I do hate the man that shot John Lennon!

John wouldn't have been so in love with a spiritually vacant woman. Then again, who knows the true nature of a heart unless you personally know/feel it. Julian is in the dust.

Then Paul comes in a close second with John Lennon third ... but then John Lennon was just "starting over" with his music and was not given a chance to do more when he was murdered. Ringo? A great drummer, fair singer, but a side note as far as I'm concerned. For you to get a compliment like that from a woman who was married to John Lennon, and obviously knew John better than anyone one of us ... is a HUGE compliment! I'm jealous! ... kidding .. um somewhat!

I liked John's solo work just not as much. Paul's work was decent but for me its undermined by his self righteous attitude.
