The check is no good.  You will deposit it and forward real money to a third party.  Later your bank will want you to make good on the full amount.

"... and hurry up & send the "stylist" the balance before you figure out that the check we sent you is going to bounce".

Any operation that expects you to pay someone else, for whatever reason, is highly probably a scam.  Report it & trash it.


I also notice that your post doesn't say where you are supposed to send the "application" -- does the guy even have a "Hello Magazine" e-mail address?  You can always contact Hello Magazine to see if they ever heard of the guy, but I am highly confident that you are being scammed.

The company decided to pair you up with the rest of the team, Make-Up Artist, Hairstylist, wardrobe stylist, they're busy traveling around the States doing Make-Up for some top models as regards to their portfolio, they work on contract basis for us. I would contact you when everything has been arranged on when and how you'd meet the models before the shoot. I will e-mail you soon as payment has been mailed out to you on or before (13th November). Shooting date will be on the (23rd or 24th November in  Launderdale Lakes). Hope any of the dates is Ok for you? Pls let me know asap. Jemina, as noted above this is a scam! Nigerian Scam

Because you already replied to them by email, they now have your confirmed email, as well as all other info you supplied to them! It will also be circulated to other scammers, so expect many more! Doi not reply to unsolicited outside emails you will now get! (Sending them "Delete my information cuz u r a scam" will have no effect)

Most of Mayhem is visible to the whole world, including these forums. You need to use the Edit function to remove your email from what you posted above! It will only generate more scammers!! (I removed it in my quote)
For the same reason, it is also a bad idea to use your last name as you MM name, or anywhere on here! Obviously, with it, the dumbest scammer can figure out your probable email. Therefore, a further invitation to be scammed!
