Well...
ah...
Well...

I was once told that wide angle distortion isn't a real thing and if I would just adjust my view I would see.

Ai yi yi.

Flattering lens choice.  Artistic use of cross lighting.  The Picaso of headshots.

it does seem odd in that the other pictures of the models seem quite lovely.Whoever it was that was given the task of shooting the digitals of  the new faces should have someone take a moment with them to explain that if you have to take pictures with a cell phone (or whatever weird camera they are useing), don't stick it up in the air and shoot down.

It's a shame for the new faces that the first pictures you see of them make them look like praying mantises.

They are using a two light setup, but the distortion in the photos is quite bad.

Not just that, but they're all in denim.

Very strange for No Ties.

Are they a "management" company [model / talent manager] or an "agency" [model agency]?

Are they actually licensed and bonded in CA?  [I don't see anything there indicating that they are]

Enquiring minds want to know.

Yes, they're very much a legitimate agency in San Diego CA - I've worked with them.

Yeah "digitals" style head shots ...hmmm probably some new face booker's brilliant idea. This was part of their "Denim is the New Black" photo shoot.

After seeing the thread title, I clicked on the link before reading any replies. All I saw were a bunch of pics of pretty girls.

Guess I'm getting old, that seemed okay with me.

Considering all the 'goes against the rules' types of portrait photography that are out there today, I didn't seem to care about the technique. I mean, all I see are a bunch of pretty girls.

You & me both.

Reminds me of one of my favorite on-the-street approaches when I gave my schpeel to an overworked, underpayed supermarket cashier. She looked at me VERY sceptically as I walked away, only later did I shoot with her multiple times before she got her Bachelors of Music & is currently singing as a Mezzo Soprano for some opera group out in Italy.

Most of the photos are snapped very close with a Canon Power Shot  6.0 MM.

basically they are just tossing up faces.
