I've been asked to do inappropriate shoots even though I'm a teenager. It's been justified by showing me other young "models".
I work at a law firm that does a lot of work for human trafficking so I see a trafficked child not a happy teen 'model', but that's my take. The photographer was from another country which may have had something to do with it as far as legal issues go.. but I was kind of creeped out.

If those requests are coming from MMers, I hope you're reporting them.

Hehe LOL. There is a lot of paid work from photographers just getting into it all... They don't know any better.
But then there is the ones that have been doing it long enough to know, but still push as much as they can. It comes with the territory (online). Nothing stuns or shocks me anymore.

Ok thanks for the definition, though that is different than most photographers define it. Most would say erotic is open leg, while adult would be considered something that would be against site rules.

Perhaps you should include your definition in your profile.  I think it could solve a lot of confusion.

I agree, that is most peoples definition. Erotic is open leg, and adult is...........insertion

One rate for all sounds like the simplest solution. I think that modeling rate should not be different based on the fact if you are modeling art, nude, portrait, beauty, whatever. Unless at first he was poking holes in the logic of charging for different rates and was asking because it didn't make sense.

It could be that by offering rates for different types of modeling you made him wonder what kind of services you were offering. If he thought you were part of the hidden culture here of people who are not really models but use it as a front to offer illegal services could be why he asked the next day. Sounds like you confused him.

Recently I was asked if I faked my passion for videogames to sell more cosplay prints. For real. In real life.

That does actually happen.  I've been using MM for about six years and I've probably had three or four messages that went something like this:

Model: Hi, I'll be in your area for about a week at the end of the month.  Here are my rates.  Love to shoot!

Me: No response

Model (a week or two later):  I still have some open times.  If you aren't interested in shooting, I'd still like to make some extra money.  (Doing what, painting my house?)

I also had a shoot a few years ago with a traveling model.  I went to pick her up at her hotel room.  While she was gathering her things, she asked if I'd rather spend an hour in the hotel room for the same money as the three hour shoot we'd booked.  I took the shoot.  While driving her back after the shoot, I asked how often people take the hotel room over the shoot.  She laughed and said she gets takers.  I made a joke about how she is single handedly ruining it for everyone, but I don't know how rare this actually is.

I've heard about this too when I first came here from real life considerate people that I shot with making sure that I was appropriately cautious about betting who I shoot with.I think it is common enough that any vagueness when discussing rates per act, (er, posing genre,) might make someone scratch their head to wonder. Could be what happened to the OP since the person came back later to ask if she meant something else.

For Internet modeling you're absolutely correct.  And you do have to be very careful about who you are willing to work with. And blocking him is the right thing to do.

However Kate Moss was photographed on a beach topless/nude by a female photographer in Europe at the start of her modeling career at 15 or Natasha Kinski, Moira Kelly, Brooke Shields, Michelle Johnson and many others all acted in nude scenes for Movies under 18.

The only reason I am saying this is that all these women were far from "trafficked".

Several years ago I had a scheduled shoot with a model at 5PM in the desert.  It became cool and windy and I suggested that we go back to Phoenix and have the shoot in the hotel room.  She was cold and was very happy to go back to Phoenix with me.   smile

One ANNOYING photographer would constantly bug me to shoot, setting up dates and then canceling, over and over. He "told me" he would pay me so I was like whatever at his stupid flakiness, but then he started asking "would you do more?" And i'd be like "more than what, like what do you want?" and he would dissolve into a series of LOLs and acting all embarrassed so finally I was like "what, sleep with you?" and he replied "omg no I would never ask that of a model!" So he continued to ask, every time we spoke, "if i paid you more, would you do more?" Finally I blocked his annoying time-wasting ass.

Ummm....none. And then I report them. Why they think I do adult work, when I have no adult work in my portfolio or on any of my sites is really beyond me. Why they think this is the correct place to solicit that type of work is also beyond me. But, at the end of the day, I don't really care what their reasoning would be, I just report them.

Same for people who would ask to touch me. It's gross, and unwarranted, and you can't reason with them (well, unless your willing to reason over that sort of work), so just flag them in the message section.

This confuses me, Your Port is completely full of nudes. Why would the question of what sort of adult work offend you. Maybe I am confused but shooting nudes falls under adult work.

Yes, I'd say you were confused. Yes, shooting nudes usually requires that the model be an adult, but that doesn't make it "adult work". In the photographic world, "adult work" is usually a euphemism for pornography (and I don't mean that in the Moral Majority sense).

My favorite is the few times I have been asked by women for the "Paint me like one of your French Girls" request...

or as one woman put it... the "Titanic experience"

I said sure? the first time... not knowing that the steamy car scene was expected after...

When I moved out of my old studio in a museum... I found a bag of clothes that had been left by someone... in it was also a journal and many many vibrators/dildos

no one asked for it back...

This JUST happened to me today. A traveling model is coming through the area. I happen to have a few extra bucks in the photo account, so I messaged her about a shoot. She gave me a rate (fair, reasonable) for a 3 hour studio shoot then said, "Or, for the same price we can just hang out in my hotel for an hour."

I passed on both, and yes, I did CAM

POV interaction during nude or erotic photography is not necessarily disgusting or inappropriate.  It's also not necessarily against the rules of MM.  Don't just jump to conclusions about things without knowing the details.

Many models on here do adult work in addition to straighter model work.  Many photographers here shoot erotic content in addition to straighter mainstream work.  If we CAM all of us and get the banhammer, this community will get much smaller.

Had a male model write to me asking if I'm open to traveling if flight was paid.
I wrote a nice reply back saying I don't work with male models, but thank you for reaching out.
He wrote back and said, Who said we would be working together?

I keep a photo of a helicopter crash that I was involve in with my portfolio. Often when people see it, they ask how high was I when the helicopter crashed. I explain that the ground did not come up to meet me, so I must have crashed at 0 feet altitude.

my mom used to keep quite a garden at my place (had plenty of space) and of course, birds, squirrel and all kinds of critters thought it was a nice food source. she found that some critters didn't like shinny flashing things - so she got some of my tossed cd/dvd media to hang on strings around the plants.

had a model spot them and ask "oh my god! is that how you deliver your images to the models?"

To the OP - flag the message and contact a moderator.  That "photographer" is not allowed on MM if he's asking for that.

Not knowing exactly how the photographer phrased it ... or if it was just said poorly ...
the OP says she does erotic / adult style ...
AND is willing to do stuff like in her lists
THREE of those lists are filled with  intimate / erotic shots of couples ....
MAYBE the photographer wanted to know if he could be the other person in the shot instead of hiring another model ...
( probably not ... but maybe )

To the OP:
Depending on how much you're asking for the erotic work, why is it out of the realm of possibility that it's for POV erotic work with the other participant being the photographer?

The first time someone asked me that, in my own studio, I actually had no response; I just looked at them like they had to be a special kind of stupid...
