Eww! No! Salt pork tastes like latex paint.  My grandpa used to put that in bean soup and it tasted like I was licking the wall.

I just made a batch of lacquered bacon for an anti-valentines party tonight. Start with extra-thick bacon, an oven at 350, and a mixture of hot pepper, black pepper and lots of brown sugar. Coat the bacon with the mix each time you flip  after 4 flips the bacon is well done with a candy shell.
