Tele-marketer called me
a mother fucker today, and I have it recorded... LOL OK, so I get this robo all. I see the number and already know it's a Robo Call. So I press 1 to let them pitch their wares. BUT, I have no intention of listening to them. I'm actually out in a field cutting some tree limbs. I can hear the guy talking, and I'm walking around talking to myself, saying, "Yeah, let's cut this one, and let's cut this one" bla bla bla, all the while the guy on the other end, is saying, "can you put phillip on the phone", and "hello, is this phillip from studio name? I keep rambling with the phone down to my side, to muffle my conversation with myself, and this guy get's pissed, and call's me a mother fucker, then hangs up. I love screwing with these folks.... don't want to get pissed? don't call me. I have all my cell calls recorded in case I need to reference the call for what ever reason. Let me see. Should I file a civil case against this firm / employee for calling me, then calling me a MF. LOL Sep 19 16 04:35 pm Link PhillipM wrote: Have a beer and forget about it. Sep 19 16 05:06 pm Link I don't answer those calls. Sep 19 16 05:12 pm Link I'm fine with it. I might have a rum and coke over a beer. Most of the time I answer then hang up, but today I figure to screw with them. 😀 Sep 19 16 05:19 pm Link PhillipM wrote: I'm sure that you taught them a lesson. Sep 19 16 05:56 pm Link I get calls from guys with an indian accent who keep telling me my computer is on an FBI list as crimes have been committed from my computer and he can help me get the hacker software out of my computer. the other scam I get is the IRS is about to file a lawsuit against me and I could avoid it if I play 900 dollars. Sep 19 16 06:37 pm Link I had a friend who used to pick up the call, then set the phone down for her cat to handle the caller. Sep 20 16 05:49 am Link Maybe OP could take on some Wind Mills while he's at it ? Sep 20 16 06:57 am Link I must get 3 or 4 calls a day. I know who they are. Damn Google experts assuring me they can get me on the first page of Google. I'm amazed they get idiots to actually give strangers money. They must. They are still in business. And can afford telemarketers to call. "Really? You can get me ranked high? Well then, let's do it! Here is my credit card number!" Really? You have got to be a complete idiot to do that. If I see no caller ID, or don't recognize the number, I just deny or push the side button to stop the ringing. They rarely leave a message. Really important people will leave a message. I'm not worried about it. More power to us! Sep 20 16 09:15 am Link These junk calls are illegal, especially to cell phones. And especially to phones on the federal do not call registry. However, the perps stay in business due to the stupidity and laziness of the FCC and FTC bureaucrats. The FCC for example, recently spent years obtaining a huge judgment against one notorious junker ... then WAIVED the fine! (How much of a bribe did THAT require?) I get junk calls almost every day to both office line and cell phone. I look up the number on 800notes.com. If they have a listing I assign a ringtone called silence & label it as Spam. On my phone you can dial them back at *67 & the number. to ring them anonymously. Don't waste your time talking to them. Sep 20 16 10:26 pm Link There is a guy from India who, along with his team, has been working this area hard. He assures his mark that he is from Microsoft, Google, Nortorn, etc. and wants to help with their computer's virus problem. They called an elderly friend of mine a while back and she fell for it. I went to her place to fix a problem she was having with her computer and noticed that she had replaced her regular antivirus with Norton 360. When I asked her about it, she told me of the guy from Microsoft who called and told her she needed something better than the antivirus she was using due to all the viruses on her computer. She had allowed the nice man to remotely take control of her computer and install the new software. Then he billed her $700. We did a check of her bank account. She had not only been billed $700, there was another charge for $600 to a company we found out to be a front for scammers and several smaller deductions. In all, she had been ripped off for about $1,700. We had the bank cancel her debit card and change the account to prevent further deductions. The copy of Norton 360 was a bootleg registered to someone in India! That got nuked too and I did a thorough sweep on the computer for malware, keyloggers, etc. It could have been much worse. My friend was in the habit of putting all of her money into one account: retirement, Social Security, husband's military benefits and income from investments. They could have cleaned her out to the tune of several hundred thousand dollars. Sep 21 16 02:37 am Link Life sounds interesting in Martin , Tennessee Sep 21 16 02:52 am Link Garry k wrote: Oh. You have no idea. Sep 21 16 03:42 am Link The primary law forbidding these junk calls is the TCPA. From when the law became active, it took the FCC OVER 10 YEARS to file the first case. Indolence? Malfeasance? "Theft" of public money? Yep. Sep 22 16 04:29 pm Link |
