Neither crop makes the image any more engaging than the other IMO.

The second crop is better. But there are some real other issues with this image. Some of which you could improve in post.

crop till you do not LOVE the picture. if you end up with 1x1 px photo, move on

This picture would be a lot better in black and white. There's not much color that adds anything special.

They're both pretty good but I'm partial to crop #1.

& for the record the "color issues" really don't bother me because there's a nice vibe to it.

#1 is more interesting to me.   I think you have more editing to do....it could be a very emotive image.  My personal style, I'd slide the clarity to the right a bit, and then mess around with toning and see what happens.
