Are there any free photo sharing services that let me provide a link to a photo that is otherwise set to private that is only accessible through that link, and the recipient doesn't require an account with the service?

Have they existed a while? Do they display images too or just give download links?

nevermind, not free

... but online drives such as Google Drive, One Drive, Dropbox... etc often give you a certain amount of space and you can keep the files private but still give a link.

Also, not free but very reasonably priced and really a good service for proofing and integration with fulfillment stuff for delivery is Shootproof https://shootproof.com.

if it's free...you're the product.

I think that they have been around at least five years.  They are established enough that they also now have paid plans.

Here is how they display a single image on their site.  Here is a direct link to that image.

Imgbb.com is free.  It says so near the top of the page.  I don't even have an account with them, and I posted the image linked above.

However, they also have paid plans with more features.

Don't Google Drive and Dropbox require the other person has an account?

Not Dropbox.
I have a Dropbox account. When I want to show something to another person, I send them a URL.
Used to be that Dropbox offered some free storage. I don't know if they have changed.
