About Me

Starting in the All Children’s Theatre, He performed in plays such as Annie where he played Rooster, and in Oliver as The Artful Dodger. He later went on to provide the leading voice in a Nickelodeon/Noggin Pilot cartoon by the name of Gyro. Jonny trained at age 14 with pro-wrestlers from around the east coast and developed his skills as a stunt performer – he later began to work at Six Flags New England where he played Robin in the Batman Thrill Spectacular Stunt Show.
At age 17, Jonny decided to share the painful story of his childhood with the public. He wrote a raw, honest, and emotional play called Rivera Brothers which was about his childhood experience with violence and how it profoundly affected him, as well as how it changed the character of his entire family. The play was a success, both professionally and personally. It solidified his passion of the theatre as well as helped him confront the emotions of his past. His play was judged as a winning entry in All Children’s Theatre’s playwriting festival, performed at the RI Drama Festival and received a citation from the Mayor of Providence, David Cicilline for standing against teen violence. He later founded a theatre organization, Dynamic Theatre in Providence along with his long time friend, Pedro Ayala. As a result of his work, He was later chosen for an internship with The Blue Man Group in Boston. Jonny’s most recent work was with Rhode Island’s own, Big Nazo Crew where he toured Canada for their recent Intergalactic Creature Show. Jonny also went on to play Steven Belber, for Salve Regina’s production of The Laramie Project and MacDuff in Dynamic Theatre’s production of Macbeth.
