Launched in 2010, The Rae Marie Label is a Sexy, Edgy and Chic Brand with a Flirty and Feminine sense of humor. The Brand is a true reflection of The Designers’ Dreams and aspirations of the woman she wanted to be and the woman she is becoming: A Strong, independent, beautiful and confident woman who loves to take risks in her wardrobe and in her every day life.Rachel’s love of Fashion began at an early age where working 3 jobs during the summer became her focus so she could afford to have money for shopping and clothes. This obsession eventually changed her career direction from that of being a Doctor of Medicine and Science to one of being a Doctor of Fashion and Design.
Attending the University of Colorado at Boulder, Rachel Hurst really came in tune with her entrepreneurial skills as well as her designer instincts. Since there was no Fashion Design Program, she created her own through independent studies in the Theatre Costume department with her professors Ted Stark and Markas Henry who had a flare for fashion. Turning productions such as “Into the Woods” and “A Midnight Summers Dream” into full on Couture-like Fashion presentations as well as creating her own Student group for Fashion Design (Fashion Design Students Association-FDSA) really helped to build a fashion foundation for her when she graduated. Continuing her education, she went on to obtain a MFA in Fashion Design at The Academy of Art University and is scheduled to Graduate in 2014.
Rae Marie is a lifestyle collection that has an emphasis on colorful and vibrant clothing with fun and daring silhouettes to make each piece create a statement about its wearer. Rachel is inspired by the women that have influenced her in her life as well as the ones that are yet to come. Whether they are going to work, to a party or a day of shopping, the Rachel Hurst girl is very sassy and energetic in her fashion choices and the brands collections from season to season reflects this.
In February of 2012 Rachel Hurst presented a small collection of three looks at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week during a Diet Pepsi Fashion Show at which she was 1 of 4 designers chosen. Many People are asking what is next for the Rae Marie Label and to that she replies “What isn’t?”
