Personally, I'm more impressed with Native American tribal attire when it's worn with pride by Native Americans who understand and respect the attire. Like at a real powwow.

Another thing. Its not Indian, even if some trible members relate to this title that was given to them by Euro whites.

That said I do not discourage people from wearing Native clothing. But rather make sure you do your research before stepping out in public and looking a fool wearing a Warbonnet. Please just make sure not to wear special and spirital items unless you truely follow the teachings of that tribe.

Here is a great website that many people both Native  and other races look to buy from amazing traditional fashion designers. There are some items in here used just for pow wows, so be noted that somethings even in this website are used for spirital practice.

this is something I noticed too, people try to be offended for 500 unique tribes

similarly, trying to take back the word "indian" even afters it been part of the lexicon for generations and there's no ambiguity in it. This is not something that many tribes find to be a point of contention, it is synonymous with other terms, just use context clues to figure out whats being talked about

nobody thinks they are going to step into a bollywood film when they cross the border of an Indian reservation.

native american, is that really the end all replacement word? did the tribes not have names? just because a word has more syllables doesn't make it politically correct

I'm not trying to be offended for 500 other tribes. Its just unsettling for majority of people to believe or think of one image that covers all natives. Seriously you don't know how many joe smoes I run into and ask me "do you bang on a thunder drum and chant to your gods?" or "do you wear feathers in your hair and run around a fire?" I am not kidding I have grown ass men make fun of my own mother's culture.

Yes, tribes all have unique names and normally I do call them that individually when addressing them properly. But for this very general tread I don't think I need to do so.  I don't think when I am filling out government or state paperwork there is a spot that allows me to put in what tribe I am in there is a slot that groups all of the tribes into one little section.

When you use the word like that I hope they were offended. Its proper to call them by trible name is you know their tribe.

Sacred items are taboo to use, but they're used nonetheless. Sexual assault (86% of which is committed by non-Native men) is never okay- and I can't support a trend which strengthens the "sexy princess Indian" image.
