I like the loli meet n' greet done at Animenext.  It's completely friendly and absolutely non-catty.  I went to one in Atlanta last year and didn't like it all.

Never go to the one at NDK if your in Colorado. A bunch of dumb 30 year old girls that are stuck up as hell stand around praising how hot topic is amazing because of the tripp "faux"lita dresses and make raver lolita and cowgirl lolita outfits. Its quite demeaning and scary.

I wanna cosplay...unfortunately there aren't many recognizable black female anime characters... *sigh* I guess I'll have to stick with the generic anime school girl.

cosplay is all about fun. dress up as whomever you want. as long as the costume is good, skin colour shouldn't matter. if all else fails you could put on some fake hair on your face, add some padding, and go as barret from final fantasy 7 tongue

You have an issue with '30 yr old' otaku types, kiddo? As I mentioned in a previous thread watch who you so openly insult.  I, as well as others, have been patient and rather nice to you, but your attitude sucks and I have a feeling you're a compulsive liar...but I won't accuse you of such.

You need to come to the realization that the world of anime, manga, and cosplay doesn't belong to you nor anyone else for that matter.  The rest of the world is allowed to enjoy the culture as they will without your incessant immature mocking. Learn how to share Skippy.

I'm 29, I own over 500 anime videos/DVDs and I've been involved in the culture since 1983...(even own the entire Ranma 1/2 series on video... purchased one or two at a time every paycheck for quite a period of paychecks back in 1996 or 97)   But short of correcting a statement here and there I let the genre take whatever turns it intends to, hell the bigger the following (loyal or not) the better my access to the things I enjoy.  So exactly how far back does your exposure go bud?

I'm not suggesting your level of interest and loyality need be based on age but it drives me insane everytime a snot faced n00b rides the perspective tails of others because he discovered the wonders of ebay's Punkystar Clothes and the magic of mommies credit card bought a copy of newtype and suddenly considers himself more asian educated then people 10 years his senior.

Learn to embrace the interest others have, educate, and spread the wealth because your current mocking barely 'elite' approach is more 'demeaning' to the culture then the 'poseurs' you try to exclude from it.

I wasnt mocking people of the age 30 or you or anyone on this website. I meant to say that they where 30 and anyone younger than them in their society they treat like shit. Im sorry. I was just using 30 years old as a description. . . Not a derogitive.

*grin* Well, much unlike America...england has it's own rich culture and doesn't feel the need to borrow from every one else.
But as americans, we are* well intentioned so I guess it's cool. *lol*

Out of curiousity, is anybody going to Dragon Con this year? I'll be going for the first time and it sounds very exciting as it's a melting pot of all sorts of fandoms, from what I hear. If anybody's interested in doing a shoot let me know, I'll be bringing quite a few costumes!

There's A LOT of cosplayers in your area if you're willing to look for them, but not all of them will do upskirt.

Wow, good to know I'm not the only cosplayer here, lol.

Out of curiosity, is anyone going to Atsuicon, or any of the ones in Texas, this year?

Reason I'm asking is because my friends and I usually dress up as a bunch of people from the same series and terrorize. ^_^

You know you want to...hehe.
