So a lot has been said about underaged models but what about underaged photographers?  Any thoughts?  Would any of you models work nude for a photographer who was obviously a minor?

A quote from her page "My name is Beckah; most call me Becks. I am seventeen years old and I'm a photographer", in my opinion this is an understatement from this young lady.

I believe exposing yourself to a minor is a crime....

I believe there has to be a sexual context. Otherwise, all the adults in nudist colonies would be under arrest.

I vaguely remember someone whos reputably knowledgeable on the minors and nudity subject ( I want to say it was alan, but I wont hold him to it)  saying in another thread where that was brought up, something about it still being illegal in nudist colonies, I cant remember who it was or the exact details of what they said, but I think its something to check on.

just sayin.

I've been to nudist resorts and clothing optional beaches that had nude adults and nude children.

Just sayin.

I believe you are wrong in most if not all jurisdictions in the US.
there are contextual issues to all indecent exposure laws.

Not in Oklahoma.  I grew up there.  If you forget your swim trunks when you shower, you'll get a joint visit from the sheriff and his brother in law the preacher.

NO: (reason) had one interning during a fashion shoot and all he did was flirt with the model and try to get her number.  Also said inappropriate things during the shoot.

Thank you for bringing these up.  Seems like some are not doing their homework when it comes down to researching topics.

Is not a teenage photographer. Is a teenage GWC. Just like adults, there are some Photographers, and some GWCs.

agreed but the chances are greater when they are younger because of the lack of experience and protocol to create a gaffe in certain situations.  You may be and probably are more mature than your numerical age but most are not.

What did you do to correct that behavior and make him more suitable to be a professional photographer?  If he was your intern, wasn't that your responsibility?

I removed him from the studio by asking him to run and get more batteries for my speedlight not to embarass him.  Then once the shoot was over and the model had left, I took him aside and alerted him of his gaffes, and what the prop-er protocol would be

That sounds appropriate.  And you still wouldn't trust him to shoot nudes now?

They would have to prove to me during the next shoot about the maturity level.

Lack of experience knows no age boundaries,
nor does general lack of tact.

Both of which may be the root cause of the inappropriate behavior you described.
I have no doubt that many 45 year old guys would have behaved the same way.

Just because it happens someplace doesnt make it the law and standard.

I do however remember someone who is quite schooled in the minors and nudity laws mentioning nudist colonies and resorts. I was trying to find something that wasnt just hearsay. I just cant for the life of me remember who said it. hmm

I definitely shot a model topless when I was 16. She didn't seem to have a problem with it. But then again I am a girl, so that might've had something to do with it.

A lot has to do with where you live also.

Where I live it is illegal to tell someone to put their clothes on, unless they are in the downtown business district or a city park. yes, I am serious

So if someone can parade around naked in front of minors legally, who is to say said minor cannot pick up their camera and click away.

Here is a post from our local newspaper:

http://www.dailytidings.com/2008/0617/s … _naked.php

And a couple of quotes:

Quote: --- ----, also known as The Naked Lady, has announced in a notice on Craigslist that she plans to lead a group of in-line skaters in the Ashland Fourth of July Parade "wearing only a hemp G-string and blowing a conch shell."

Quote: Ashland Ordinance 10.44.012 requires only that people cover their genitalia when in a city park or in the downtown commercial district, making female nipple coverage unnecessary — everywhere.

Not sure I agree with this, but...

Flashing someone isn't sexual per se, yet it's still against the law.
