Norman 2000d and norman lampheads not all firing
I have a Norman 2000d pack for my studio and several LH 2000 lampheads. They all have flashbulbs that work and every port on the pack works, when I push the test button. Here is the problem when I connect a pocket wizard, sync cord or wein LH sync to it only one head will fire. I have tried several configurations but it seems to only fire the lamphead plugged into the first port on both sides. does anyone have this pack? has anyone had a problem with like this? I have a place to send it to but would like to see if I anyone can suggest anything that might work. Thanks Ralph Aug 19 08 06:26 pm Link do you have more then one pack? does this happen with the others? possibly try firing another pack with the pocket wizard and a slave in the one that only fires one head with it. I have those Normans and have no problem firing all the heads in the pack with my Pocket Wizard. Aug 19 08 06:32 pm Link dana a wrote: I only have one pack and 3 heads at the moment. I did test all of the heads on another pack and they fired so I don't see it being a lamphead issue. I think it has to be the pack. According to the person I bought it from he used it regularly and pulled it out to fire it every week or so. It did work on Saturday with no problem using a sync cord. Aug 19 08 06:46 pm Link This makes no sense. try rotating head position. I have a lot of experience with Norman's (sold a lot of them) and never had that problem. (do not like them - they had bad quality control - but once fixed they worked forever) My wild assed guess -- wiring problem in trigger circuit -- try one head at a time in each of the 7 plugs -- then two. trigger with radio's Aug 19 08 07:14 pm Link Dogparc Studios wrote: Did you try just the synch cord to camera then let the heads fire off the main? Mine works that way. But you have a different head. Aug 19 08 07:17 pm Link Saturday I shot with a sync cord attach to a household cord and it worked fine I was only firing on or 2 lights at a time. At the moment none of my flashheads seem to want to fire. I still get the power light on but no flash at all. Anyone in Philadelphia who can come over and check it out? Free use of my studio I got a few paying client and may have to just borrow my buddies dynalites. Any websites that might help me out perhaps with wiring diagrams for the heads? He told me that it happened once before and his repair guy fixed it for something like $100. good luck. Aug 19 08 07:29 pm Link C Alexander wrote: out walking the dog but will try it when I get home. Aug 19 08 07:33 pm Link Just saying, not usually relevant but the synch cord and its connection is usually always the weakest part of the whole system. I couldn't even begin to tell you how many times that has messed up my day over the years. Aug 19 08 07:36 pm Link uh did you guys know that these packs have a 15 amp circuit breaker. Ok don't know how it popped but I reset it now the flash is working but not the pocket wizards Here is what I have at the moment only one flash will work in very plug I tried 2 flashes one at time works but not 2 talk about frustration Ralph Aug 19 08 08:13 pm Link Patrickth wrote: Sync cord now works but only one flash pops Aug 19 08 08:14 pm Link If the power is on split. You many have a bank of capacitors that are not firing. If it is on combine you may not be getting full power. Aug 19 08 09:11 pm Link Lorin Edmonds wrote: how would i fix this? Someone told me to leave it on for an hour then fire the flash a few time another hour then fire the flash etc. Aug 19 08 09:17 pm Link Lorin Edmonds wrote: How would I tell if it is on split or combine?
