I have a Norman 2000d pack for my studio and several LH 2000 lampheads.

They all have flashbulbs that work and every port on the pack works, when I push the test button.

Here is the problem when I connect a pocket wizard, sync cord or wein LH sync to it only one head will fire. I have tried several configurations but it seems to only fire the lamphead plugged into the first port on both sides.

does anyone have this pack? has anyone had a problem with like this? I have a place to send it to but would like to see if I anyone can suggest anything that might work.

Thanks
Ralph

do you have more then one pack? does this happen with the others?  possibly try firing another pack with the pocket wizard and a slave in the one that only fires one head with it.  I have those Normans and have no problem firing all the heads in the pack with my Pocket Wizard.

I only have one pack and 3 heads at the moment. I did test all of the heads on another pack and they fired so I don't see it being a lamphead issue. I think it has to be the pack. According to the person I bought it from he used it regularly and pulled it out to fire it every week or so. It did work on Saturday with no problem using a sync cord.

This makes no sense.

try rotating head position.

I have  a lot of experience with Norman's (sold a lot of them) and never had that problem. (do not like them - they had bad quality control - but once fixed they worked forever)

My wild assed guess  -- wiring problem in trigger circuit -- try one head at a time in each of the 7 plugs -- then two.

trigger with radio's

Did you try just the synch cord to camera then let the heads fire off the main? Mine works that way. But you have a different head.

Saturday I shot with a sync cord attach to a household cord and it worked fine I was only firing on or 2 lights at a time. At the moment none of my flashheads seem to want to fire. I still get the power light on but no flash at all.

Anyone in Philadelphia who can come over and check it out? Free use of my studio I got a few paying client and may have to just borrow my buddies dynalites.

Any websites that might help me out perhaps with wiring diagrams for the heads?

Yes i had the problem before flip the pocket wizard cord at the power pack

Then test each head by itself. see if that helps

A guy i work with has a 2000 and 4 heads. he has one port taped off cause if he plugs in 3 or more they all don't fire. He told me that it happened once before and his repair guy fixed it for something like $100. good luck.

out walking the dog but will try it when I get home. What would it look like if I burned out the flash head?

I hope this works I love the simple fixes the best

Just saying, not usually relevant but the synch cord and its connection is usually always the weakest part of the whole system. I couldn't even begin to tell you how many times that has messed up my day over the years.

If the power is on split. You many have a bank of capacitors that are not firing.

If it is on combine you may not be getting full power.

How would I tell if it is on split or combine?

I have a P2000D, 3 heads, and 2 PW's.  I have the same symptom when either of my PW's have batteries with less than 50% full juice.  REPLACE THE BATTERIES and try again.

If the symptoms are not occuring with the TEST BUTTON, then I would strongly suspect the triggering mechanisms.  Sync chords are also notorious for issues.  Alleviate your headaches by rotating out each piece of the triggering chain and re-testing.
