Stereoblind wrote: We're in Vancouver, WA (aka near Portland, OR). Love collaborating, sharing techniques, trying things out together, discussing how things are done in existing work and trying to put them into practice in the studio. If having a place for mentors and students to learn, or newbies to come and practice in our studio (or on location) and ask questions without feeling TOO intimidated by a Pro, qualifies us for this list - please put us down. The first time I tried a mentor relationship I discovered the gap between where I was in my learning and where the mentor was in his experience was too great so I went back to fiddling around solo for a while longer so I didn't feel so intimidated. Having a "Starting Out Mentor" that is a stepping stone before hitting up a real Pro, might be exactly what someone is looking for. We're very laid back and fun. To which any of the people we've worked with will attest to. But if we don't meet the criteria for this list, that's okay. Just wanted to offer. Hi I am sorry, you don't meet the criteria - you exceed it! Welcome to the list. Your details have now been added. Peter

Miss Anna Evans is amazing. She has helped me with advice when asked, and is not afraid to give brutal honesty if needed. Thank you very very much.

I'm almost wondering if we should post something in the newbie forums to direct them here. Most of them probably don't even realize this thread exists.

We have tried to get an information page about the Mentoring program pinned at the top of the 'Newbie Forum', but so far without success. Hopefully eventually they will relent and allow us to do so. First of all, what a wonderful and thoughtful thing to do! Thank you for spear-heading this! I would be very interested in being mentored by someone near Seattle, WA. I did scour the list, but didn't see anyone near there. Thank you, Ashley

Thank you, Ashley Although we don't have anyone in your area, I'm sure any of us would be glad to offer you advice and go over your portfolio with you. Check over some of the mentor models/photographers and see if anyone's style interests you. Good luck!

I'd love a mentor! I've only been on here for a couple of days and already I'm confused and overwhelmed! However I couldn't see any in Australia?
