Dec 26 10 04:36 am Link Hello everyone. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. I'm in California and I need lots of mentoring. I like my work, but then I see all of you wonderful MUA and want so bad to gain those wonderful skills and knowledge as well as how to's. I see that many MUA's have makeup ports where the closeups on the makeup and face are impeccably beautiful. How do I capture that? Do I need better photographers also? Need Help!? Dec 26 10 02:40 pm Link I would love to be a makeup artist mentor. I love to help and give advice. I can mentor for people between the south coast [Batemans Bay] and Canberra in Australia, NSW. (?) Jan 20 11 04:06 am Link Ms_Samantha_Marie wrote: Hi Samantha Jan 20 11 08:27 am Link I'm a budding HS/MUA, and I would love to find a mentor. I'm in the the Toledo, Ohio area, I could go as far as Detroit, MI for a good mentor!!! Jan 20 11 09:17 am Link Hi everyone. I am brand spanking new in the world of makeup artistry. I have made a living as a digital retoucher for years and have decided to get away from the mouse for a bit and to work with people instead. :-) I live in Washington, IL and would love to find out if there is anyone in my area who would be willing to work with me. I am currently looking at enrolling in several courses to further my skills and knowledge but there is nothing like practical hands on experience to really get your feet wet. I am first and foremost an artist and see this new opportunity as way of making women of every shape and size walking works of art. I would appreciate any assistance in this pursuit of mine. Thanks so much for your time. Becka Jan 20 11 01:43 pm Link Peter Buckley-Saxon wrote: Truth! And thank you for answering Jan 20 11 10:46 pm Link Von & Becka: Your best bet is to check the first page and see who the mentors are in your area, look at their portfolios, and contact via PM those who do the kind of work that interests you. Good luck! Jan 21 11 12:12 am Link Denise wrote: Thanks I appreciate you getting back with me. Another quick question for the board. What are your thoughts in general of paying for online correspondence courses for further training in the field? I live in a very small town and there are no schools that specifically focus on Makeup Artistry. I would have to pay over 10k to attend a cosmotology school and my only desire is to work with makeup not hair or skin. Since I am very visual my thoughts where to take some correspondence courses and have friends be my guinee pigs so to speak as I am learning the techniques. Jan 22 11 06:23 pm Link Hey there! Been mia and sick and busy but I'm back now and checking in! Happy New Year everyone! Jan 28 11 02:12 pm Link Retouching By Becka wrote: Becka, I'm not sure if you are near Chicago, but The Makeup show will be there in June, lots of educational opportunities there. Also, Candace Corey https://www.modelmayhem.com/3856 is an artist based in Chicago who does workshops, so you might want to look into those. Other than that, you could look for MM member MUA's who are in your area, check their portfolios for the type of work you aspire to do and see if someone is able to do some one on one lessons with you. Jan 28 11 03:17 pm Link Sent a message to the tampa artist. Is this an updated list? Is there anyone in Orlando? Jan 28 11 10:43 pm Link BrianaDanielle wrote: The mentor probably isn't using MM as much as they used to, but it doesn't mean that they won't answer you when they return. Not ideal, I know! Jan 29 11 12:29 am Link Danielle Hampton wrote: Thanks. No questions really I would just like to shadow on a job before i do one on my own. I have a mentor at Lunatic Fringe here in Orlando.. she's just so amazing it's kind of intimidating haha.. I'll be going to see her Monday though, was just seeing if I could have another one or two mentors. Jan 29 11 12:48 am Link BrianaDanielle wrote: Best of luck for Monday Jan 29 11 01:12 am Link anyone in australia need a mentor ^_^ Feb 03 11 03:23 am Link NOTE TO EVERYONE As you can see almost all of the mentor list has disappeared. This is due to the upgrade that MM has just completed which has resulted in some glitches. Please be patient whilst MM tries to sort out these problems. PLEASE DO NOT ADD ANY OFFERS TO MENTOR, OR REQUESTS FOR MENTORING UNTIL THE ISSUE IS RESOLVED - THANKS Peter Feb 05 11 01:27 am Link |
