10a  Introduction to Erotic Photography: A Basic Tutorial for Photographers and Models by Lisolette Gilcrest

This workshop will provide suggestions and tips on the basics of getting the right equipment, finding other erotic models and photographers, creating your scenes, setting up your portfolio and finding venues to show your work at. A brief Q & A session will follow the presentation; participants are encouraged to bring their existing portfolio (if they have one) for feedback and suggestions and there will be products available for sale at the workshop.

This workshop is geared for beginners and amateurs who love The Dirty Show and erotic photography and want to make their own erotica either for commercial purposes, publication, art exhibits, or even for their own private collections.

The agenda for the workshop is:

    * Getting the Right Equipment
    * Finding the Right Model or Photographer
    * Setting the Scene
    * Processing and Printing Your Portfolio
    * Marketing Your Work
    * Erotic Art Venues

Participants should be prepared for a flurry of helpful information and resources in getting started in the field!

Lisolette Gilcrest began publicly exhibiting her work in 2006, making her debut at the renowned Dirty Show in Detroit. Lisolette is a Charter Member of the Mid West Society of Erotic Photography and is only one of three females within the group's twenty-three photographers.

Soon to be featured in the permanent collection of The Kinsey Institute's Special Art, Artifacts, and Photography Collection, Lisolette is noted for her distinctly feminine erotica that she says is focused "less on 'the deed' and more on the delicious intangibles of romance, attraction, desire and lust fighting against the expectations of social mores, gender roles, and personal inhibitions.

01p  Conceptual Visions: Creating the Image Before the Shot by DVS

This interactive Q&A discussion will not be technical.  This will not be about camera settings, light metering or even post production.  Through detailed analysis of personal favorite images, DVS will explore the creative process of finding unique inspirations, designing base elements and creating your vision physically within the studio without the need for digital manipulation in editing.  This course involves creating conceptual imagery by pushing the most of what you may already own regardless of experience or professional equipment.

Co-director of the Midwest Society of Erotic Photography and director of the Detroit Erotic Arts Collaborative, DVS is a published award winning conceptual art photographer who prides himself in creating his conceptual visions without any post digital effects.

02p  Marketing Erotic Art by Chris Maher

For most people, erotic artwork is a passion, not a source of income. This workshop is for people who are interested in taking it to the next level and getting paid for their creative work. Selling prints, marketing rights as well as finding clients and collectors will be the focus of this workshop.

Chris Maher has earned a good living selling his photographs for more than 30 years and can help you begin selling your work as well.

04p  Intro to Color Management by Joe Ferraro

Does your monitor show you the true color of your work, as it will print or do you always get unpredictable results? How many times do you have to compromise your vision of color because what you see on screen isn't what comes out of the printer?

This is an introduction to help you be able to see more accurate colors on your screen, so what you print is closer to what you see on your monitor.

Joseph has over 15 years of digital color experience, with a background in photography, retouching, design and multimedia art. He currently works at an advertising agency as an Art Production Manager, which entails retouching and color managing art assets to ensure that they reproduce as intended.

05p  Bondage for Photographers by Eric Cain

I often get questions from other photographers that want to do bondage, but don't know where to start. Ive come up with a basic bondage class with the photographer in mind. Learn about model safety, different types of bondage (rope, leather, cuffs, etc), and some basic rope bondage.

I have been doing bondage photography since 2005. In that time, I have attended numerous classes and learned a lot through trial and error.

07p  Section 2257 Regulations Workshop by VATO

This workshop will aid erotic photographers in understanding the rules and responsibilities associated with Title 18, Chapter 110 (with primary emphaisis on Section 2257) of the United States Code and the upcoming amendments to the provisions of the code as introduced in Title 18, Part 75 of the Code of Federal Regulations.

While current Section 2257 recordkeeping requirements have been limited to those creating "traditionally" identified pornography, there is clear indication that recent updates to the code includes fetish and nude material that does not meet the standards of pornography.

This workshop does not attempt to offer any legal advice, but rather intends to provide basic information regarding the code and the amendments.

The workshop will be presented by VATO, a published erotic photographer and co-director of the Midwest Society of Erotic Photography (www.mwsep.org). VATO is not a lawyer, but holds a strong background and working experience in legal education and code enforcement.
