"Flipper"

Wow man there was or is just no one more likeable on MM, You have been my friend since the begining 4 years ago when I first signed up. We have joked together, we have discussed the business and we discussed equipment and new stuff.
You are and will continue to be greatly missed on MM and in my life, you were a great talent and an inspiration both personally and professionaly.
My thoughts go out to OM's Friends and family, I know your hearts like mine are heavy with loss, consider though that you and I were lucky to have known such a bright and talented soul.

Ollie "Flipper"......we love you!

I only knew Oliver Mendoza for a short time, in that time he inspired me and others to move forward and create art for art's sake.

He will be sorely missed, but I hope his words and skill will live on.

Oli once told me to "Never underestimate the guy with the disposable camera."  I have had that quote of his on my page for the last 3 yrs or better.....I am sure that it will stick with me for the rest of my shooting days.  Oli will be missed but as long as we remember him and keep him in our hearts he will not be forgotten.

He once said that to me too and I just laughed. He was always so modest about his talent. You're definitely right Duke. He will not be forgotten.

Rest in peace my dear friend.  Your humor, friendship and kindness will be dearly missed.  You were a class act and I'm a far better person to have known you.  My thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

They say the easiest way to judge a person is by the company he keeps and the friends he has.  Ollie must have been a great person!!

I am posting the most recent letter from Olivers sister . . . Ollie was a great guy and for those of us who asked what we could do . . . I am stopping by my local Wells Fargo today . . . I don't have much but I am sure anything will help.

Upon making all the funeral arrangements, we have come to discover that many of you have asked where you can send flowers or money for the funeral arrangements.  In lieu of flowers we request that you donate to the Oliver Mendoza Memorial Fund in order to assist us with the funeral expenses, as they have to so much more than we had expected.  It can be as little as $5, each dollar counts!

I bet Ollie's saying "Making ONE BILLION DOLLARS!" with a pinky to hip lip --- because he was always such a goofball. :-)

Please make check payable to:

Antoinette Olimpiada –OR- Jennifer Tran Mendoza

Please write in the Memo section: Oliver Mendoza Memorial Fund

If you are not able to make it to any of the services, you may also deposit your check at any Wells Fargo branch and provide them with Account # 1405400381.

Thank you all for your love and support!

Sincerly,

Antoinette M. Olimpiada

3 years ago Ollie sent me a package in the mail with Corel in it. He encouraged me to edit pics, to continue painting Murals and to get my fanny behind the camera.. I have done all of those things and have found such passion for it. Thank you Ollie for encouraging me to trust my skill and stay in this crazy business!

I am very curious as to how many posting here met, and worked with Oliver? He came across to me as someone I'd want to hang out with, and someone willing to teach me something new. .And as I've stated since learning of his passing, he made me laugh a lot!

Was that Oli who would come in to the shout and say "Arch your back bitches?".. I seem to recall someone coming into the shout and posting that all the time..
