getting paid for nudes
I am a true amateur--never posed for anyone but my husband--Am i dumb to think I can get paid to pose nude? Jul 23 09 03:41 pm Link Linda Lunn wrote: ask the same question in the critique forum Jul 23 09 03:43 pm Link This is the internet. Anybody can be anything they want. Post some rates and see what happens. Just my $0.02 Ciao Stefano www.stefanobrunesci.com Jul 23 09 03:43 pm Link i think you should probably try casting calls and look to hire or do tfp with photographers first that way you can get some professional pictures. other than go find gwc they will pay almost any one to get nekkid for them Jul 23 09 03:48 pm Link Roxy Mae NFB wrote: before doing the casting call, maybe think about taking out the 2nd, 5th and 6th pics in your portfolio and limit yourself to the images that are closest ? Jul 23 09 03:53 pm Link I would suggest getting images in your portfolio that will advertise the type of work you can and want to do. It is the difference between wanting to get paid for being a nude model and wanting to get paid for just getting naked. Any more info will gladly be given in a PM or in the critique forum. Jul 23 09 03:54 pm Link From what i've seen, only a very small percentage of models make a full time living with modeling and at that level the competition and the required devotion to diet and exercise is huge. You seem to be a good natured, adventuresome, happy person who has found herself a supportive and admiring husband. I suggest you enjoy that and just shoot for fun and not try to make money. Jul 23 09 04:00 pm Link All you need to get paid is a customer who wants to pay you. Nothing stupid about that at all. It's just a fact of circumstance. However, paid nude photo shoots should be easier to find than non-nude paid photo shoots. Jul 23 09 04:04 pm Link please excuse my complete ignorance....what is the risk of GWCs? Physical danger of assault? Jul 23 09 04:08 pm Link Linda Lunn wrote: No more so than with a photographer Jul 23 09 04:11 pm Link Linda Lunn wrote: Yes, that is the risk, as it is with meeting any stranger. Please be careful! Jul 23 09 04:11 pm Link Linda Lunn wrote: Bad pictures. Jul 23 09 04:11 pm Link Linda Lunn wrote: I think it is probably more badgering and/or uncomfortable situations than actual assault. You need to check references from other models in order to get a full understanding on what to expect. Just know that a GWC can have an amazing portfolio Jul 23 09 04:13 pm Link Linda Lunn wrote: No, you are not dumb to think that. Jul 23 09 04:15 pm Link well hey she asked if she can get paid to pose nude all i said was go find a GWC they pay almost any one to get nekkid for them. Jul 23 09 04:15 pm Link In general, there are not many Asian nude models. So that works in your favor. There are also not many pregnant nude models. So if you are still pregnant, that is in your favor too. Jul 23 09 04:17 pm Link All seriousness though. post a casting call for portfolio bulding work and either pay the photographer or find one to do TFP to get better pictures in your port before you can start getting paid. Jul 23 09 04:18 pm Link with the right hair and make-up.... and a good photographer to help you build your port.... i think you will get work. Jul 23 09 04:24 pm Link thanks for all your answers......I love posing fully nude, but would not do spread or explicit shots----i guess that means i cant really get paid? Jul 23 09 04:28 pm Link Justin Foto wrote: +1.....J/K i have seen some awesome GWC's do fantastic photography, but true professional can work with you as a new comer to modeling, and help you with poses that enhance your body style, good luck ! Jul 23 09 04:29 pm Link Linda Lunn wrote: Now is the time to think about whether or not you want to get into modeling. Unless you are going for the fast money of explicit shots, MODELING is HARD work! Jul 23 09 04:32 pm Link Linda Lunn wrote: I can't believe no one told you: Jul 23 09 04:37 pm Link Linda Lunn wrote: look into your market ask local models what they get paid. i got paid and i dont do alot of explicet stuff. jut depends on your market. but you cant think about pay until you have a decent portfolio Jul 23 09 04:41 pm Link Are you doing it for the money or just feel cus evey model that poses nude has to get paid. I know lots of MM models that do it for the creative proccess and to get some awsome professional images. Ask your self what you are worth getting photographed nakied then go by that. Most Published models start at 150 an hour or maybe at 75 an hour Jul 23 09 04:47 pm Link Magic Image Photography wrote: she said she doing it cause she like to pose nude Jul 23 09 04:48 pm Link OP, there is a whole world of art modeling out there that is mostly non-sexual. Do some trade shoots with good photographers, build a portfolio, and you should have no problem picking up paid work. Jul 23 09 04:54 pm Link You can get paid as you get started, but you'll likely have to network a lot to find much paid work. And as others have said, it won't be a constant job. Sure, okay, I got paid $100 an hour to shoot a couple weekends ago, but that's not a constant. I have 2, maybe 3 paid shoots a month currently. Granted, I live in a smaller area, I'm still pretty new, and I can't travel far. If those things were different, I might be making more or shooting more. I do a lot of TF shoots for concepts I want to shoot and for the artistic side. Whether you get paid or not depends on many factors. I get some work based on my location, some based on word of mouth (or e-mail), some from posting in the forums, some based on the type I do and my posing, some from my hair, my size, my skin... lots of things. I also get passed up for probably an equal number of things: my inexperience, my size, my breasts, my driving situation (I don't drive), the fact that I can't travel far, etc. My advice is, in short, make it a hobby that sometimes pays, not a job. And never shoot anything you don't want to shoot. That way you have fun and maybe you make a little money on the side. I love nude modeling because I feel appreciated. And I really love figure work because I get a euphoric feeling from it (I suppose that comes from feeling that I'm really good at something). And I'm trying sexier stuff now just to see if I can pull it off. Jul 23 09 05:06 pm Link Linda Lunn wrote: I am not trying to change your mind, but if the extent of your nude modeling is like what's in your portfolio, there is little chance of being (regularly) paid. You'd have to do something to stand out or be bolder. Just standing in front of a camera naked does not equal a payday. Jul 23 09 05:13 pm Link It is not hard to get paid to do nudes. It is hard to get paid from some one you want to work with... Jul 23 09 05:20 pm Link Can you get paid with your port as it is? = I'm sure you can find some guys to pay you. but most will be more interested in a privet show than the photos. can you get paid "good money" = its hard for in demand models with wonderful ports to make a living from nude modeling alone. How can you get a better port to get better jobs? = look for new but good or old but experienced photographers and ask if you can trade you time for his. you'll be surprised how many will shoot you just to be the 1st to take "good" shots of a new model. edit: as a side note, If you were in my zip code I would put you to work (but with cloths on) just for being an Asian with a good build thats hard to find in my town. Jul 23 09 05:24 pm Link Linda Lunn wrote: It's all about positioning and marketing. Figure out something unique that you can offer which can not easily be found elsewhere. And also be prepared to face a lot of rejection. There is *no one* who appeals to everyone. J.K. Rowling was rejected 12 times before she found a publisher that thought she had something to offer. The key is to find the photographers that you appeal to, and forget about everyone else.
