I met her while visiting my folks in Port Charlotte, Florida.

We scheduled three different shoots over three days.

Barbara was full of energy and she followed instructions very will. She was very prompt to all 3 of our shoots and she dealt with the rain and cold without ever complaining.

This classy woman would be a great find for any ad campaign looking for a more mature model.

Since we seem to sometimes lose the intent of this contest, I am going to try to post a note outlining the intent and reiterating the eligibility requirements in each page as the thread grows.

Intent:
This contest was set up as a venue for beginning models to introduce themselves and gain a bit of positive exposure. It has always been intended as a fun competition and the goal has always been to support theLIST - Photographers helping NEWbie Models program.

The term "NEWbie Model" is difficult to specifically quantify and we all have different concepts of what "newbie" means. For the purposes of these programs, "NEWbie Model" means someone who is new to modeling. Not new to this site, but someone who has had very limited experience modeling. Quoting rates, tours and other signs that a model is a working professional are indications of professionalism and disqualify a model from the programs.

One of the central goals of these programs is to assist new models build their portfolios. Because of this one of the eligibility requirements is that the model is actively pursuing portfolio building work. A model whose profile indicates "paid assignments", "very limited TFP" or similar statements are indicating that they feel that they are beyond the scope of the programs. Similarly a model who indicates that they are "on hiatus" or inactive for whatever reasons will not be able to benefit from the programs and should hold off until they return to activity.

Eligibility Requirements:
The eligibility requirements for this contest are pretty simple. Yes, there is a bit of objectivity involved so if in doubt, please consider the above and ask me if you have questions about a candidate's eligibility.

* Definition of LIST photographer: A photographer who has submitted work to and has been approved by "TheLIST~TopDrawer"
** Definition of a "newbie model": Any aspiring new model who is a MM member. She may not be affiliated with any modeling agency as of yet and her portfolio must reflect a "newbie" ambiance, including images, listed experience and contacts. She may not show in her profile tours, rates, or anything else that would give her the appearance of a working professional model. If in doubt our Top Drawer Commitee will make final determination.

A couple of additional notes:
Length of Membership
Originally there was a limit of one year maximum for a model to have been a member of Model Mayhem. This stipulation was dropped over a year ago under the rationale that sometimes (often?) models have a false start: One shoot then for whatever reason stop immediately. So if a MM membership has been effectively fallow this is deemed to not be a factor. Once again, the spirit of the law is that a model must be a beginner model.

Re-Nominating a NEWbie Model
Very often the contests are very close. theLIST members may re-nominate a model who did not win the contest after a thirty (30) day waiting period. As time goes on and the nominee gains experience, they will become ineligible even if they were eligible when the images were shot and the first entry was fielded.

I have been a member of THE LIST for a while now, and active in working with a handful of young models - though I have yet to enter a model in this contest. With limited knowledge of commands I have to try this, so please bear with me.

I have had the opportunity to work with Gina Natalie, MM #1444074. While she is new to modelling, you would truly never know it. She was a pleasure to work with.

Makeup was done by the model herself, hair and photography by myself.

She always brings positive attitude to the shoots and is full of energy. And she takes direction really well, when given. Anything to get that perfect shot. In one of the shoots, she climbed up to a tree and rest on the branch just for a shot ! It has always been a pleasure to shoot with her.

This week I'm pleased to re-submit Bella Brooklyn, MM #1024079.  Although she has been on Model Mayhem for a while (under the name Kia Bella), she's now making the big push!  Since we first shot together in May of 2009, Brooklyn has made amazing progress as a model while also branching out as a MUA (MM #1350859).  When she's not modeling or doing makeup, Brooklyn works in the administrative side of San Francisco's nightclub industry.  All makeup, hair, and wardrobe was done by Brooklyn, and all photos are unretouched.

I'd like to introduce Annabelle mm# 871726 from Dallas, TX. She was an absolutely delight to work with. Currently a college student, she's looking to get a feel for this industry.

I would like to introduce Britt Dee MM #1392173 from Ft.Worth,Tx. Currently a high school student this was Brittney's first MM model shoot and she was a pleasure to work with especially for it being her first go around. Shot at Ft. Worth's Botanical Gardens.

My entry this week is Easton Marie (MM#1492751).

She is the "other half" of the "dynamic duo" of identical twin models (Easton along with her sister Dana Lynn MM#1553692 make up the pair).

Easton is a brand new model, only just having started modeling.

Introducing Sparrow, MM #1498383. 

I "met" her when she asked about nomination to this competition, and was referred to "The List" photographers in her area.  I was planning a trip to LA a few weeks later so I contacted her and offered to shoot with her when I was in town.  I'm glad that I did!

Hi I'd like to introduce the Lady Dori Belle MM#1582647 as a NMOTW. She just left the military and very recently started modeling. She's got an exceptionally different look than most models I've shot and although she's new at this, she's learning things at a ferocious pace!

Introducing Squee, MM # 1392778.  I met her late last year while browsing the newbies in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Although an accident left her with paraplegia several years ago, it has not stopped her from pursuing alternative modeling.  Squee has an artistic flair, and gives every pose her all.  When she's not modeling, she's taking classes at Cal Berkeley.

Tammy is an angel, a natural beauty with silk-smooth skin and deep seductive stares. She has a lot of spunk. You great photographers reading this (and I know there are many out there), shoot with her and take her to the next higher level!

Welcome Leah MM # 1589254, Leah is new to modeling and anxious for new opportunities. She came prepared, took direction easily with body movements and expression.  She’s bubbly, has a positive attitude and professional.  Leah works in Finance for a major aero space firm; she puts a new twist on crunching numbers.

Please meet Amanda J. Ward MM#1561597.

I had great time meeting Amanda for a talk and than have her for the studio session, truly being an artist in visual arts her involvement and participation level in the shooting was amazing. Amanda is an alternative character and an creative mindset well deliberated and strong. Working with her is a great adventure. You can find her own arts at her website referred on here on MM and more in her deviantart collection. I hope to see plenty of a new great expression on her taken by many talented photographers in the area.
