Do you really think you're concentrating on what's in front of you, when you have someone else to consider?

Help me understand The model needs to gain trust in her photographer, her make up artist and stylist. If they have an escort around they tend to trust their opinion on things, over the rest of the crew. Which means taking out the time to explain every decision you make on things. Most escorts get bored after awhile or feel they need a purpose in being there and usually invent things to do and make decisions on things that are not theirs to make.

Help me understand tell me this...do you bring an escort into your doctor's appointment, or operating room, or hair appointment, or better yet, your dates with your "boy-friend(s)"? You don't think that these are people who could cause you harm or whatever? What about the "escort" being in the way of the professionals doing their job? Why does a photographer need to be concerned with what your extra limbs are up to?

Help me understand Who is making the photographer feel more secure, now that it's at least two against one with this other random person there? Oh wait, I forgot, photographers might be crazed murderers, thieves, perverts, or otherwise undesirable to be alone with... but naive models and their possessive boyfriends, I mean escorts, never are.

Do they ever consider the safety of the photographer's person and equipment? The more people at a shoot, the greater the risk to the photographer.

I really wish I could find the article on where the photographer was knocked unconscious and the model raped by her 'escort'....

Listen up, people, for I have a crazy, innovative, never-before-seen suggestion! Why don't we all just work with the people who have similar goals and outlooks to our own, and pass on the people we think are dumb? Yah? Good? Problem solved? Good.

I have had 2 shoots which were going good, building up to a really good shoot when the escorts became bored and talked the models into quitting early. On one of them I had traveled 250 miles (one way) , spent the night in a motel and bought a $250 roaring 20's outfit to fit the model. Never again!

My favorite response to the age old "escort" problem is ⦠as long as they are licensed, bonded and their insurer names me as a payee. If they want to "act" all professional I say quid pro quo.

I swear, people can turn a simple half day endeavor into a production worthy of a CIA operation. All of this, "escorts" "references" and other blah blah blah is insane. Folks don't do this when they go out for their first date (and if they did, the divorce rate might be lower). Why all this investment in time for something which has such a small impact upon the totality of one's life?

My husband turned into my photographer's assistant at my last shoot, ha. He was also instrumental in getting me to genuinely smile, I still get camera shy... At any rate, I usually don't feel the need for escorts. I'm a big girl and can handle myself. If it made the photographer feel awkward I certainly would skip it. (I always let them know if someone might tag along and check to make sure it's okay.)

Don't these people have lives and more important things to do other than spend time watching what you do? *and that's for everyone who is "escorted: I don't get it
